Hi ladies,

Just in case anyone is interested, Gilt City has a 50% deal on Wedding Chicks which has some adorable OOT bags and other stuff. The sale lasts for approximately 2 more days. Enjoy :)

@@KaraEbeth Gilt City is kind of like a groupon but with higher end stuff. Plus you can get another 20% off I think for being a first time buyer. I've bought some stuff off there in the past. It's great for these types of things! If you have a chance, take a look at the wedding chicks website...a lot of ladies buy their totes which are very cute. If you can catch a sale on their website AND use the gilt city voucher, it's a win win. The site for the totes is   http://shop.weddingchicks.com/totes/

Plus, they have other custom things like t-shirts and such.

My planning has been put on the back burner for a little bit. I'm focused on getting invites right now. I actually ordered invites from this one vendor on Etsy and it turned out to be an awful experience. She promised 8 days turn around time which included printing of the invites, RSVP, accommodations card, return address, and guest addresses. Long story short, it took over a month to get the invites (which the quality was not great), and she was difficult to get an answer out of once I paid her. I contested it with my credit card company and got my money back so now I'm at square one looking for invites again.

How about you? How's your planning going?

I have to respectfully disagree with talicea7812...I went up to see the Sky deck when I did the BDR last December and we LOVED IT...it was gorgeous!!! It's an unobstructed 360 degree view and really reminded me of Santorini or the likes (I've never been but it looks like the pictures I've seen lol). Yes, you can do a cocktail hour up there. We're booked to have the ceremony and cocktail hour up there.  We saw the Sky deck at Sensatori and it's completely unfulfilling because there is a giant wall on one side that takes up the view. I am so excited to go back there :)

@@talicea7812 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! That's soooooo exciting!!! :) I bet you guys are over the moon

@@ng2015 that stinks I'm sorry:( hopefully you get it sorted out. I ordered our save the dates through zazzle (just postcard size) I was super impressed with them. I've actually looked through the wedding chicks website and love their tote bags and I was kind of perturbed when I found their free printable chevron stuff. I still like my save the dates better but theirs were free! I may still use it for other things. I am doing my bridesmaids in pinkish coral dresses with turquoise and gray/white chevron accents.

@@KaraEbeth that sounds super cute! I was thinking of blush and/or coral for their dresses too....it just goes so well with Mexico :)

I was trying to upload a panoramic picture I took of the Sky deck but it wouldn't let me because the file is too big, sorry

btw, I got my save the dates from a designer on Etsy and had them printed on vistaprint. also came out nice. I hear great things about zazzle!

we did the sound system.  it was just fine.  we had a few kinks bc my hubs was in charge of the playlists and didn't set them up properly.  so that's my only complaint. cheap and sounded fine.  we had one of the groomsmen introduce us and the dances.  we didn't pay extra for a microphone (hotel supplied) one for speeches.

@@ng2015 oh well that's good you were able to use vistaprint. I ordered my save the dates on a Saturday night at like 11:30 and they shipped the following Monday morning! I had them by Thursday! So I am definitely going to use them for more! Thanks btw for the gilt tip. I took advantage of the wedding chicks offer!

@talica7812 thanks, I'm considering the sound system but not sure if I want to do a private event still or not. Kind of waiting to see if more people book their trip. I would much rather do our dances and all that in Mexico in front of 30 people rather than at our at-home party in front of 175 people. I do not like to be the center of attention so I am seriously stressing over that part lol. I thought we could do our dances there and play them on a projector before we make our entrance at our at home party and then play a slideshow of our wedding pics. We weren't going to do a dance or any of that stuff but our parents I think were really hoping we were so we will see. Love your new pic btw!

@@talicea7812 sorry see above, spelled your name wrong and I'm on my phone ????

I'm having trouble deciding whether to have a legal/civil or symbolic wedding in Mexico?  Pros and cons for both?  Is there too much paperwork getting legally married in Mexico?  I want my wedding down there to be "real" but am worried the marriage certificate might get lost in the mail.  I'm also worried it might be more expensive to get legally married down there.  Thoughts?
