Has anyone used Caribe Photo or Matias Cano for photography and Videography? Apparently these are the only 2 vendors who cater to the Azul Fives at no charge.

Any feedback on these two would be great and helpful!

The reception was held indoors, but I was in another wedding in the same place, that were held on the beach beside the pool, they set up a wooden dance floor, I do Photo and video but can't advertise my self in here, please follow the link to my site and contact me on the "Contact Tab" http://www.luckiephotography.com

@ do you have an idea where the reception was held and I see you do photography. Do you do videography as well. I have the following events planned for the week of the wedding and would love it all documented but concerned about costs, can you suggest the best way I can do this?

Hi,

- Cruise -- 1hr 30mins

- Rehearsal Dinner - at 6pm possibly 2hrs

- wedding ceremony, Wednesday 16th at 6.30

BestDestinationWedding.com & Wright Travel Agency are excited to present a wedding webinar for Azul Fives.

Gilberto Machain, an Inside Sale Associate and former Wedding Coordinator, will be a panelist and will give a presentation as well as be on hand for a Q & A session.

I will also be a panelist to answer your travel questions about rates, group blocks vs. individual packages, etc.

This is a great opportunity for current Karisma brides and grooms or those considering the venues for the wedding location to get your questions answered.

Hi Ladies,

SO EXCITED to read all this stuff on the AZUL FIVES.  I'm getting married there in April 2015.  We just booked our date and the location.  We went to look at this resort in November and fell in love with the Sky Deck.  So we are doing the Sky wedding package on a Friday with a cocktail hour on the deck outside of the Sky Bar (one level below the Sky Deck), followed by a dinner reception in the garden/pool deck.  The DJ will set up on the cement floor of the pool deck and all the tables will be on the grass of the "garden" area.

I decided to choose one of the memorable moments themes for the tables.  I'd rather not have to choose everything individually (napkins, table cloths, chair bows) plus they have nice set ups already.  We are going with the Colonial Charm for table decor (lavendar/sage) and the Costal Bliss cake is pretty cool...very beachy.

It is possible to get married on the beach at this hotel, but the reason we chose the Sky Deck was because of the view and the privacy.  At most places where you can get married on the beach, you have a beautiful wedding set up....and then you have people in their bathing suits gawking at the event.  I didn't want that.

BEST part of this place is the FOOD (and the staff)!!!  Everything is so elegantly put together and delicious!  Not often found at all inclusive resorts.  All, but one, of their restaurants in a la carte.  They have an italian one where they make their own pasta!

We will use the dinner that is included in the wedding package as our Welcome (Rehearsal) Dinner on Wednesday night at the Flavors restaurants.  It's their only buffet style restaurant and they will give us the semi-private room.  Its still pretty open, which I don't mind at all.  It is included for 40 people and then we pay $25 per person after 40 people.  (I don't get this...your guests are paying for their food anyway, but whatever.)

The only down side to this hotel is their hefty vendor fees.  You have to pay $800 for anyone who is not approved, which is hard when they only work with 2 photographers.  TIP:  Local photographers will work with you if you tell them about this fee.  We are using PIXAN....great photos and video.  And they gave us a discount to balance the vendor fee.

If you are looking for an outside vendor, find one that does video and photo, that way you only pay the fee once for 2 services.

ALSO....note that the deluxe rooms only come with 2 double beds.  The only rooms that come with a king bed are the one bedroom suites.  It wasn't a deal breaker for us, our guests will handle it.  hehe

ONE more thing...They started construction while we were down in Nov 2014.  They said it would be done in one year.  It will add 300+ rooms to the resort.  Just FYI.

Please keep posting info as you girls are planning.  I found reading through the comments very helpful!!

Good luck to everyone!

Carolina

You and I literally have the same wedding planned!

We are getting married in January 2015 with the ceremony on the Sky Deck, cocktail hour on the Sky Bar with our reception in the garden and dancing/DJ on the pool deck! Ahh love when someone else has the same ideas lol

This is what ive read about bringing items for favors/OOT bags.

Save all receipts.  You should put no more than $300 worth of items in each suitcase. Include in each suitcase a list of the items contained in the bag. Have documentation on hand showing that you are coming to mexico for your wedding & will not be returning with the items because they are gifts for your guests.

Customs main concern is if you intend to sell the items you are bringing into the country.

I intend to be very meticulous about what I bring with me and save everything!

Hi Girls!

I am also a future Azul Fives Bride to Be!  Our wedding date is Sunday, May 4th 2014 ... aka 72 days!!!   I had looked on this site when we were first engaged and didn't see anything as it relates to Azul Fives.  So excited to be able to talk shop with you girls!

We are having our ceremony (symbolic) beach front- my fiancé's best friend is marrying us (we will be legally married in the US when we return), and hosting the reception in the garden.  I did reserve a dance floor to have centered in the garden and have pictures I can share.

I am working with Carol as my wedding coordinator, and Elena is booking the rooms for our guest (she is not amazing... Carol however, is!).   :)

Invites went out in the mail last week, and we have 35 guests attending!  Are you having your hair/makeup done at the salon in the hotel?  I had planned to bring a girlfriend, but she has just become engaged and they set a mid June date, leaving her without the extra funds to come with and style us pretty... I'm feeling a lot of anxiety about this, because I have short hair, and it takes some talent to style it the way I like.

XO,

Andrea

Hi @@mrsrobertkarlik

I am getting married at Azul Beach in April!  I had similar concerns about hair and makeup- however, my hair is long, thick, and unruly.  It takes a magician to tame my mane...and a lot of time.

Anyway, I read reviews on the hotel salons- Vassa.  The stylists are supposed to be good however, speak little English.  People advise to bring a picture.  Now, heres where I thought it might be a problem.  Ive been in several weddings and have had my hair done for all of them.  If theres something you don't like about the pic or your hair as its being done...your gonna run into a language barrier.  Makeup I've read is nothing special.  They use quality products but the application is something you could have done on your own.

I am bringing in hair and makeup.  I was given the ok because the makeup artist im using does airbrush & the hotel can't provide the service. so even if you don't want to use airbrush you can just tell the resort that's what they use.  I'm supposed to pay for a day pass but I'm fighting that since they aren't staying at the resort to eat or drink- just pamper the ladies and leave.  I'll keep you posted on how that turns out
