aigustafson
I heavily used this website to plan my December 2013 wedding in Cabo. I wanted to contribute my reviews. Happy wedding planning! Cabo Transfers A+ I worked with Atenea Olvera to arrange travel for my December Wedding in Cabo and I couldn’t be happier. The service was outstanding. They arranged travel for my 45 guests from the airport to the Fiesta Americana Resort in the Corridor and to my rehearsal dinner in Cabo. The drivers were friendly/professional and the vehicles were very nice. Cabo transfers handled delays and ensured every one of my guest made it to the hotel timely and safely without burdening me with the stress. My guests had nothing but compliments. Cabo transfers was an excellent value compared to their competitors. I would recommend to anyone. DJ Fradal A+ - We couldn’t be happier with DJ Fradal’s services for our wedding in Cabo. He is very easy to work with. He played every song we requested and his song picks excellent and always right on key with the mood. My friends couldn’t believe we offered little to no input in song selections (but you could if you wanted). I’m so happy with my decision to use the DJ for the ceremony, reception and dance. My wedding guest had nothing but good things to say about the music. I wasn’t sure if my wedding would have people on the dance floor the entire time and they were!! People danced the entire night! His prices were also very reasonable. I loved everything!! Fiesta Americana B+ - This resort is switching to an all-inclusive in 2014, so some of this may not be applicable. I originally selected the Fiesta Americana because of the group room rate (I thought it was very reasonable). WELCOME HAPPY HOUR – we had a welcome happy hour at the lobby bar for all our guest. My uncle was gracious enough to pick up the tab for everyone and was over charged by more than $400 because the bartender did not offer happy hour prices. We realized later and the resort went good for the amount, but it took several conversations/follow-ups (not exactly what the groom wanted to be doing on his wedding weekend). On the positive side, the views from the lobby were great and it was the perfect space to welcome our guests. ROOMS – rooms were nice, standard and almost all rooms have at least a partial ocean view which is a plus. POOL AREA – Pool is the perfect temp. CERMONY SPACE – we had our ceremony on the beach and reception at the Whale Terrace – it was gorgeous. For me it was a major plus the beach was “private” or much less populated then the Medano beach resorts. I didn’t want a lot of people lurking. Also, with the ceremony came huppa flowers and they were ugly! Had I seen the flowers beforehand I would of torn them down and gone flowerless. RECPTION FOOD – We went with the barbeque buffet and are so glad we did. The food was excellent. I ordered cupcakes from the resort and they were terrible! The initials were wrong and I fairly certain they had been frozen. In the end, wish I would of just gone with the buffet deserts (which were very good) or picked up a cake from Costco. WEDDING CORDINATOR – I worked with Rosaura and she was very good. She was responsive and provided excellent recommendations. I did hire Amy Abbot wedding planning services at the end to help coordinate all the vendors (which I’m glad I did). It made it very stress free for me. SERVICE – service at the reception was very good. OVERALL – overall I’m happy my choice. Primarily because of the guest room rate, being able to choose my own vendors and the reception space. However, if I were to look again I might consider renting a villa and holding the wedding/reception there. I think with the cost I would of come out the same (if not cheaper) Bradley Fraser A+ - It was a pleasure working with Bradley. He was very calm and laid back. He makes his work seem effortless. I didn’t even know he was there. I used him for both the wedding and trash the dress pics. I already have my pictures back and they are BEAUTIFUL! I absolutely love them and have gotten several compliments. Best of all – I got my pictures and photobook back in 2 weeks!! Suzanne Morales A – I decided on the Susan Morell salon for hair and make-up for my wedding. I very happy with my decision. I also hired them to do my bridesmaids hair. Everyone looked fantastic. The stylists were patient and worked very efficiently. I would highly recommend to any destination bride. Amy Abbot Wedding Planning B+ - I decided to hire Amy Abbot Wedding planning less than 2 months our from my wedding because I was having trouble pulling everything together (primarily the decorations/flowers) By this this time, I had already taken care of the photographer, transportation, Rehearsal dinner venue, DJ and hair and makeup. Overall, it was all fairly easy to do myself. Lynette from Amy Abbot helped me decide on decorations, get an aisle, heatlamps and flowers. She proceeded to work with the other vendors I hired to ensure the wedding day ran smoothly (which it did). The only real compliant I have is with the flowers – I didn’t get any visuals or have any idea what the flowers would be until 5 days before the wedding when Lynette called and provided me with a description (still no pics). I realize flowers are difficult in Cabo because everything is imported and can be very expensive, however, I spoke with other Cabo brides and they were able to give input and/or see picture/samples. The flowers were not my taste and if given a choice I wouldn’t of picked them, however, I do not know what else was available or what other options I had (depending on the bride – this could be a huge issue). In the end, the reception space looked absolutely amazing. My husband especially loved it and I had a completely stress free day which was the whole point of hiring Amy Abott. If I could do it all over again, I’d probably hire a wedding coordinator way earlier in the process (then they could handle everything J). The cost would of probably been about the same. Take your time and speak to different coordinators, so you can find one you work well with. Baja Cantina A+ - I was recommended the Baja Cantina for my wedding rehearsal dinner for 45 guest. I LOVED it! The sales contact Patricia was very easy to work with and always provided excellent recommendations. The event space on the beach was beautiful. I didn’t provide any decorations and it was still beautiful. The service was excellent and the food was very good (I did the Mexican buffet). Everything was so great, some of our guest event made the trip back to dine during the remainder of their stay in Cabo.
minnykiss
Hi! Great detailed review I'm a newbie on here and finally decided today that Cabo is where my fiancé and I will get married. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up spending on your wedding (venue, food, flowers, entertainment, alcohol, etc)? I understand you had 45 guests (children included?), I plan on having 80 guests at the most. I just want to know what to expect to spend. Thank you! Jet0144
Hi, do you have Rosaura's contact information? I've been trying to find it on the website but can't. Thanks!!
carah2520
Hi, I have the same question, if you don't mind, how much did you end up spending? I'm trying to but a budget together for around 50 guests. Thank you for the review, it was very helpful!
Arroyo17
Hi Carah2520, I am getting married at Sunset de Mona Lisa with 55 guests and it is going to cost me about $22,000 when it's all said and done. (Original budget was $17,000 but that went out the door pretty quickly!)
hpreece
Carah2520, I had the same question as you when I was first thinking about Cabo. I had no idea how much money I was going to expect to pay. I'm getting married at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina on Medano Beach in July and we will end spending about $9,000 for 30 guests for everything except our transportation to Cabo. This includes wedding coordinator, flowers, venue for ceremony and reception, food, alcohol, hair/makeup, photography, officiant, decor for ceremony and reception, and DJ. Hope this helps! aigustafson
Sorry - Catching up on this thread. Hope information below helps. To answer all the questions: No guests brough there children to wedding (even thought they were invited) We spent around 15k on the wedding. Includes DJ, Hair and makeup, wedding decor, flowers, wedding aisle,(everything) our biggest cost driver (by far) was the bar bill from the wedding - we kept the tab going all night (6+ hours) - Total bill could easily been reduced if we done an all-inclusive or limited open bar hours - but we are very happy with our choice. Our wedding was gorgeous. My friend did an all-inclusive and her wedding was less then 5k for everything! Carrillo Rosaura ([email protected]) Let me know if anything else! Happy planning!
