Everything looks great! You're almost there!! Please let us know how it goes with the iPod. I'm considering the same thing, not having a DJ but I'm still debating because I have a rather large group. Would love to hear feedback!

Thank you! I asked Marvin about the wind being an issue and he seems to think the flowers should be fine! We are going to be up on a terrace so the wind shouldn't be as bad up there!

I will also look into that app I have heard of a few but haven't really done my research on that yet!

How big is your group? Ours is around 60 right now. This is that aspect I am really worried about so I hope it goes well! if we really suck at playing DJ we can just head to the disco a bit sooner lol!

I'm anticipating my group to be at least 80 maybe even up to 100... that's why I'm concerned about the music also

Oh wow, that is a huge group!! Must be hard to reign in a budget with those numbers!! When is your wedding?

Yes it is... I'm giving myself a decent range but with all these ideas I'm hoping to save more with DIY projects!! It will be in May 2014 so I have some time...

As you can tell I'm not much of a DIY type for this. I love that other brides do, I'm just not very crafty, it would look like 10 year olds put it together if I did it lol . Ill definitely keep you posted on how my choice to cut out the dj works! You have tons of time to figure out what you want and see if that's the best route for you! I know they have increased their outside vendor fee for DJs for 2014 so they are getting pretty expensive!

Music: This is one area we decided to save money (I really hope we don't regret this decision!) we are opting to just rent the equipment and then use an iPod. Since in the end it really only ends up being 2 hours of party time (after cocktail hour, and dinner and having to shut down at 10pm), it seemed silly to spend almost $1600 on a DJ. But I really want a good party so fingers crossed we can pull this off!

 

I booked Juan from Del Sol Photography to do our engagment pictures we are actually going to do them next week.  We are so excited to work with him and see him in action.  I'm sure your wedding pictures are going to be amazing and worth every penny.  Their photography style is awesome.

 

I'm on the fence on the whole ipod/DJ I want the party atmosphere and don't want to be worried about the ipod messing up the flow of things but you are right to spend over a grand for a DJ for 2 hours seems a little much.
