Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm looking to see if anyone is getting married between Feb 25th and Mar 4th 2015 in Jamaica?.. Our wedding date is on Sat Feb 28th at the Riu in Negril. We have booked our amazing photographer Jamie Dimitry. His work is incredible and he is always down south doing weddings and has the experience. We were at a wedding in DR in April and he did the wedding and the results were just amazing.

What I am looking for is to see if anyone will be in Jamaica getting married at this time and looking for a reliable, experienced and super friendly photographer and see if we could split the cost of his travel because currently we are paying for a 3 day for him to come to our wedding.. But if anyone is interested in having him also we could extend his stay and split the costs of his travel as you know this is an extra costly cost.

Please don't hesitate to get back to me with any questions whatsoever.

I am getting married at RPTB in April 2015 and I am very excited, and slightly nervous. We have about 30 people, and have been in contact frequently with Sophia. She told us it was $15 for each person over 20 however, so well see apparently. I really wanted to hire a photgrapher, but did no like the one through the resort, and hiring one outside without meeting them AND paying an outside vendor fee has detered me from that. I did talk to a few brides that opted out of the chair covers, because the white wooden chairs are actually pretty nice.

We are doing a bonfire party in leiu of a rehersal dinner the night before, and it is only about $550 for that, and we are bringing our own wireless bluetooth speaker to use.

I was contemplating what to do between the wedding and dinner however... it is an all inclusive so I am having trouble justifying doing a cocktail hour. I think that we may just migrate everyone to a bar and hang out. Sophia did say we could do our first dance after the wedding on the beach, considering we'll be having dinner in the steakhouse to accomodate our number of people. I thought I was going to miss having the dance floor and stuff, but seeing how much it is to rent that I think Ill just wait until we have a reception when we return home :)

@becassidy  Our wedding will be in May 2015. I agree with you about not being able to justify the cost of a cocktail hour at an all inclusive. Seems a bit much to me. We also will be having a reception when we get home so we are going to save all our dances, etc. for that.

I'm curious about the bonfire party you mentioned. I wanted to have a kind of welcome party, I wonder if I could do something like that. What all does the bonfire party include??

I was getting married at the RIU at first, until I wanted a private beach reception and a few other things. After the price I was quoted , I changed hotels. Also the videos I saw on Youtube did not make me happy either. However the reviews on Trip Advisor about the staff and the food are great. For this we will be planning a vacation there, I hear they have the most amazing beach.
