Absolute Wedsite in Toronto - HORRIBLE SCAMMERS

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just wanted to post a warning to people who are looking for a DW travel agent, Absolute Wedsite, based in Toronto (Vaughan) are lying scammers and you should avoid them at all cost.

I went to these guys to coordinate a wedding to Mexico for a group of 50.

At first i was promised two complimentary rooms for party over 24.   They however found a way to cheat us out of these complimentary room, basically worth $3600.

Basically, my group required more rooms but the resort is full due a convention during the same time frame.  The resort offered to upgrade my group to the nicer section for free, but Absolute Wedsite decided to pass on the message that the hotel is only willing to upgrade us if we give up the 2 complimentary.  I decide to take up the offer, only to later realize that the complimentary comes from the travel agent and not the hotel, so i checked  the Absolute Wedsite along with the hotel wedding agent...

the response from Absolute Wedsite - we can't disclose our internal communications.

With attempts to find management from Absolute Wedsite to see if they have a better response, but only got bounced around and no response..

Conclusion, its not my shady agent whos behind the scam, the entire organization is shady.

Hope this helps others!

You can report to Better Busineess Bureau, which I will do too. But not alot of people will check before they sign up with a travel agent, coz you never think it could be that horrible. Platform like this will be the good way to warn future bride from doing business with this company. You thought you could reflect your concern to the CEO of the company? FORGET about it!! NO ONE will take care of you after you paid them :(

It’s unfortunate that we paid them before we found out all these. Therefore I wish I can put out enough warning / red flags to all the brides that are planning for a destination wedding.

#1: they made mistakes but never admit nor apologize, in fact will blame you and charge you for “your mistake”. Example, few guest’s names are spelled wrong on the flight confirmation. They blamed that the guest provided wrong information. How possible is that you spell your name wrong???? In order to fix it, they ask for $$ to correct that.

#2: extremely messy and not professional! Leakage of client information! Example, our guest wants to join us for our wedding, therefore requesting the sign up form which has our wedding date, location information, etc. They sent a form of a wedding for another couple with different date, different location. (our friends just laugh about it, we felt ridiculous) For the final payment, they sent our invoice which also includes our guest list, to someone in our group. These are information that’s not supposed to be in other’s eye. It’s lucky that it sent to someone in the group, but there’s also chance that our information were sent to their other client. The way they handle client information is totally unreliable!

#3: A lot of our guests, including ourselves are extremely angry and frustrated with them. But they claimed to me that they got lots of compliments from our guests!!! FULL OF LIES!!

#4: last but not least, they were handing out flyer at the bridal show, advertising all the perks including 2 Heys carry-on luggage. Our wedding is well over by 6 months now, they never follow through with their promises. We sent them follow up email (cc the CEO), however no response.

We choose to book our wedding through a travel agent because we thought that would help us and make things easier. Turn out booking through ABSOLUTE WEDSITE is the biggest mistake we’ve made for the whole planning process. It creates extra work load, extra stress! Completely fustrated!

I first heard about them at a Toronto Bridal Show....their booth at the show and on paper look sooooo good that I instantly thought: these people are going to help me plan my wedding!

BUT......

I started to read up on them AND emailing with them and soon realized THEY ARE AN UNPROFESSIONAL business!!

I would email and it would take two weeks before I got a response...not a good first sign...I finally got a response from the owner who told me she was on vacation....yeah right! on vacation with no out of office or anyone around to answer your messages!?!

I'm so sorry to read you've had a bad experience with them.....

Hopefully other brides on here from the Toronto area will see your post and NOT go with them!

Take care and good luck!

Pam

ABSOLUTE WEDSITE IS THE WORST!!!!! WARNING!!!WARNING!!!

My husband and I recently had our wedding in Mexico. We came upon this ridiculous extremely unprofessional travel agency at the wedding show in Toronto, and blindly went into booking with them. It wasn't long after our first payment that things started to go sour and we realized quickly that we had made a terrible mistake. Unfortunately, these people are very good at scamming and lying so they know how to hook you and trap you.

We had so many issues with them and they were extremely rude and lied to us through the entire process . My guests all had terrible experiences and complained about the terrible customer service they experienced.

We are still battling with them after our trip to get back money that they lied to us about and stole from us. What ever you do, stay FAR FAR away from ABSOLUTE WEDSITE!! If you see them at the wedding show.....RUUUUUUNNN!!!

That's why I love this forum. We get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly in everyone's experience. Your share will help someone make the right decisions in their planning. :) Love Emma.

Wow, I have definitely stopped to chat with them at the Wedding shows in Toronto.  We spoke with one of their agents about potentially organizing our honeymoon with her.  Ya, no.
