Is anyone doing pictures before the ceremony?

Just curious to see if anyone is doing their pictures before the ceremony so that you can spend the cocktail hour with your guests?

I really want to so I can be a part of our cocktail party too, but FI is determined not to see me before the ceremony. I'm gonna keep working on him!

Yep - absolutely! We plan on having our photographer do the "first look" photos and a few bridal party shots "pre-game". Seeing FI beforehand isn't that big of a deal. I know I"ll still get teared up and emotional for the ceremony...

I'd like to take some pictures before the ceremony. I like the pictures you can get before the ceremony starts. Otherwise the picture of him the first time he sees you is just of him & you are so far away. I want to be next to each other. I also think it will calm me down & help me not cry so much.

 

I imagined we'd take these pictures somewhere near our room. I'd still like to go out to the beach for some shots after the ceremony. I think it will be nice to have that time alone (plus photographer) together right after.

 

One thing to think about is you won't have your wedding band before the ceremony so you may not want to take all your pictures then. I'm not getting a seperate band so it doesn't really matter.

We did pictures before our wedding, but we also went off after the ceremony for more. But I think it worked our great, plus it gave DH and I a chance to share a special moment before we got married.

We are not doing pictures before the ceremony. FI really wants to wait to see me until I walk down the aisle. I'm sure I could change his mind, but I am really trying to respect the input he does have.

Tom and I are doing our non-beach pics ahead of time (the ones where we see each other for the first time) but all other pics will be afterwards ... but I don't think will take the entire cocktail hour time since we'll do all the after-ceremony pics on the beach and the reception is on the beach so we won't be trouncing all over the resort afterwards. thank goodness.

We decided to wait and do all pictures after the ceremony. We just want to keep that anticipation. I was also afraid that if we do before pictures, since many of our guests are staying very close to us, they would see us before the ceremony as well. And as a guest, I love that anticiaption of seeing the bride & groom nervous and so excited to see each other.

 

Although I wish we could do some shots before, b/c I'm afraid we're going to lose the light! We'll just have to do them very quickly!
