Ali we are doing a beach reception, I rented a tent/dancefloor/lights from Cover me up tent rentals who has been awesome to work with!! responds right away

I'm not sure what we're doing for dinner options yet but I figure i'll decide that a couple weeks before.

I'm so unsure of what to do for dinner. We are having 23 guests, not including vendors. I really wanted to do a private beach reception, but we obviously don't have enough people. We have Elite Media planned for our DJ and video, and I hate to have a DJ for 4 hours when we really only need it for 2 for the non-private reception. I guess I'm really disappointed we can't do a private reception, but maybe we can still do the beach party for afterwards? I'm not in love with the idea of a bonfire. Any suggestions?

Cara - does Elite Media have to do 4 hours or can you get them to do only 2?  Are you committed to them or would you consider DJ Kevan for two hours only?  he's the resort dj and I've heard great things about him.  That way you can do your dinner and then dancing on the beach after?

I'm thinking of doing a cocktail style reception on the beach. Appetizers and cocktails only. Have any of you looked into this option?

Does anyone have a price list from the resort for the beach dinner/reception? I've only heard about it through here, that it's $50/pp, but what does that include? Is there a menu you can choose from or is it from Aunt Ruby's?
