susan, we had the same issue with our officiant for the ceremony.

 

But, he was such a sweet old man, I couldn't be mad at him, because I never emailed my ceremony ahead of time. I felt really bad for him, he literally got the ceremony I wrote, probably minutes before the ceremony, he did have a binder with him, and I also liked how he added his own personal touches, like a blessing before the ceremony began and also a blessing of the rings. He felt SO bad, I could tell, and he apologized, but we told him it was wonderful and he did a great job.

 

So, I definetly understand where you're coming from with the ceremony!
