2014 Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm a newbie. I've always wanted to have a destination wedding so i have been following this site for a while now. I am officially an Iberostar Suites bride. My wedding date is Sat August 08, 2015. That's about all. I'm waiting to hear back from the resort to find out group rates. So far this what i have in mind for my weekend

Friday night welcome party on the beach with entertainment

Sat:

Ceremony- 5pm

Cocktail hour - 5:30-6:30 (food, drinks and steel drums)

Reception-6:30-9:30- Either rent out one of the restaurants if i have at least 70guests OR have a semi private dinner and dancing and cocktails to follow on the beach

Sunday- I'm going to arrange an optional excursion

I'm having a bridal reveal party next month. There I will reveal my bridal party and give out traveling info.

For those further along in planning please share pricing info or any suggestions if you don't mind.

First and foremost thank you for all the insight. Our wedding is in October 2014 at the suites. So far I have contacted the resort with some questions I had.

Thursday-

We are hoping to have dinner with our family and attendants.

Friday-

Hoping to do breakfast with the BMs before preparing for the day.

Ceremony: 5pm at the lobby selection overlooking the beach.

Cocktail hr: 6-7pm (we did not include the open bar because we felt this was ridiculous because we are at an all inclusive resort).

Reception: we are hoping on a private reception (waiting on final guest bookings). We inquired about the private reception with 40 ppl or less and it is costly. If we get the 40 guest we will have the reception from 7-11pm.

DJ- added from list provides by resort.

Photographer: still debating (we really like sungold photography but they are not available) :(

Videography: none yet may be a family member

We are kind of going with the flow. My biggest concern is not having a private reception (because I want the wedding to have a traditional feel). We did not add activities because most of our guest are coming on various different days and we wanted everyone to do their own thing and spend the wedding day with us.

@@CGervaisToBe @@KatMcV I am booked for November 15, 2014 at the Suites! I'm sure we will run into each other! How is the wedding planning going?  I'm trying not to drive myself mad here but i feel like its approaching with every waking day!

Hi Brides,

Here is some more detail about my upcoming wedding.  Looks like all of our weddings overlap...

Date: November 12, 2014

Time: Around 4 pm

Hotel: Iberostar Rose Hall Suites

Ceremony Location: Beach Front

Cocktail Hour: The one that is included in the package right after the ceremony on the beach

Reception Type: We are hoping for private, but this would have to be on the beach.  After reading lots of reviews are are considering a semi-private in one of the restaurants (maybe the steak one) and then something in the beach afterwards

Reception Location: Beach, but maybe in restaurant and move to the beach afterward

Reception Time: ?7:30-10:30pm

Music: Resort DJ, but also looking into other options

Photographer: was going to use the resort one, but after reading lots of negative reviews, looking into other options

Videographer: likely the resort one, video reviews seem okay

Travel Coordinator: Kelsie Abrahamson from Travel Only

Guest Amount: 95-100 invited, expected around 50, 40 RSVP'd but we have had some cancellations.  I will know my final numbers next month (our full payment is due at the end of July) looking like it might be between 35 including us and children

I am a newbie and just found out about this site over the weekend.  Just in the more serious planning stages for the wedding day =)

How is all of your planning going?

I've been reading that Misha is pretty good also i would try Christopher Lee if i'm not mistaking he used to be a resort photographer. I follow him on FB he doesn't have a website but i have read good things about him. He's young energetic and appears pretty passionate about what he does.

Cocktail hour-a friend of mine got married last year at an all inclusive resort and lost some of her guests between the ceremony and dinner because they went to the bar to get drinks (something to consider).

@@budgetbride2015 I thought I read in my documents Loreto sent me that we can't use outside florists? I could be wrong, I'll have to double check. The florist they use seems good and I've read some good reviews on them. We're not having a bridal party so there really won't be many flowers other than what comes with the package (bouquet, boutonnière, and anything for ceremony). You should move your posts to the 2015 thread though :)

@@helenk I didn't know they had a 2015 thread thanks...Lol! I have read that in my contract but I've read that other brides did use an outside florist (unless they changed the rules)

@@budgetbride2015 they charge for all outside vendors. You may want to read the contract.

I refer to it almost everyday.

I'm currently looking at elite media concepts

@@jennifernoel1 yes they do. I spoke to elite media yesterday they seem great if I don't fly someone in I'll probably go with them. It's $100 for wedding planners or band members to come on to the property I believe. And for video and photographers it's one night stay. Since my guys will be staying the whole weekend I should be fine
