Riu palace Mexico brides 2014?????

Recommended Posts

Hi Hoping for some tips/advice. Booked our wedding through first choice/thompsons for may 31st 2014 at Riu palace Mexico. I can't seem to find any info of weddings at this hotel....loads on Riu place RM but none for this! Stress! Anyone booked or had a wedding here since it has been refurbed? Do they provide the photographer? How many guests have to be attending to have a privet dinner? ( I really want a beach bbq buffet ) and last question ..... Did you hire in people to decorate the wedding or did the hotel provide it all? It is part of my package but wondering if they provide good decoration? Thank you in advance for any help! .... Any photos, tips ..... I'd be very thankful Kat Xx

Hi Kat,

Congrats on selecting the resort!! Tricky part is over :) We are currently planning a couple of weddings at the newly refurbished Riu Palace Mexico. No need to stress - just reach out to the hotel coordinator and they will be happy to provide you with the anwsers you are looking for :) You have lots of time! Photography is not included in the packages, but you can hire their photographer (who is actually very good!!) - there information can be found at www.adventureweddingsphoto.com. The wedding package includes minimal decor for your ceremony, they will be able to help you with further decor you wish to purchase for your ceremony and/or reception!

Happy Planning!!

Thank you so much, that's really helped :-) I think we have booked the royal package.... I just want the decor for the ceremony to look fab like some of the photos I've seen for other places. Photographer is up there on the top of my list so I'll have a look at the link you have sent! Thank you! One last question haha .... I have requested 3pm for my ceremony, but now I'm worrying it will still be too hot and thinking I should have asked for later.... What times do everyone normally go for? Thanks Kat

Hey Kat,

I imagine each hotel has it's own policy regarding fire works so your wedding planner would be the only person to be able to answer that!  Below is another idea for some fun at your wedding.

Hi Kat2014,

Congratulations on getting your wedding plans off to a start. My Fiancee and I are getting Married next year at the Riu Caribe, i know its not the same hotel but maybe we can help each other with any questions that we may have?!

With regards to your wedding plans, we have booked the same package for our wedding, due to the numbers we have going, the photographer isnt included in the package deal but hiring one will take a bit of research, we are in the middle of doing this just now and its quite hard to know what your looking for as all the photographers we have looked at, via the vendors on this site, all have really good looking portfolios!!

Also as part of the wedding package through Thomson/First choice minimal decoration is included i.e. table cloth and seat covers etc but if you speak to your wedding co-ordinator they will be able to help you with your requests and anything else that you want to do with your special day.

Have you spoke to your wedding co-ordinator yet? Have you looked into the documentation requirements for your wedding?

Anyway i hope you're very excited and start to get things moving along.

Mark & Elaine.

Hi mark & Elaine That sounds like a good idea I received my wedding co-ordinator details this week, I decided to change the time to 4pm rather than 3pm so the evening will flow smoothly .... I just sent her a email introducing myself and she changed the time for me - took 2 days to get back to me but I think it's down to them being busy. She told me about decoration coming at a separate price from the package and that she will speak to me closer to the time about it. I've had a look at the documentation, from the pack I was given from first choice - very confusing. I'm going to have a good read over it in the next few days. I asked about a privet dinner - I really want my reception on the beach ( fingers crossed for good weather ) and the fireworks look amazing! She said 30 + people to attend and there is an extra cost, but I may consider it. Have you spoken to your Wedding co-ordinator? Is it may your going? It will come round very fast!!!! Kat X

They look AMAZING, are they sparklers? Would I have to buy them in the uk and bring them over or could I get them over in Mexico? Thanks Kat
