Just for clarification, are you looking for a knock-off or authentic dress at a reduced price?  Makes a difference on how I reply to this post.

Just looking for  a simple knock off dress!  Cant justify paying 1000's for a Designer dress!

Miss J-

Another good option that I've discovered lately is consignment shops. I'm not sure what the availability is of consignment shops catering to brides where you live, but some of the ones in my city actually carry new dresses for a fraction of the cost, as well as dresses that have been worn just once.

A few options…

While I donâ€t have any personal experience with jasminesbridalshop.com, this was the company that I was going to go with for my TTD dress, but decided that I would wear my actual dress instead.  Iâ€m pretty picky when it comes to detail, and this was the only one that I felt comfortable with.  I think their designer I think theyâ€re on the higher end in cost compared to the competition, but I think the quality/craftsmanship warrants this.

If youâ€ve found a dress that you love and the style is somewhat popular/well known you can possibly find it on sites oncewed, preownedweddingdresses, recycledbride and even classifieds on ebay and weddingbee.  These are all great resource and I have either used them or know of other brides who have.  These are sites that sell new, sample and used dress.  I would even estimate that a third of the dresses are samples from bridal salons trying to rotate their inventory or new dresses from brides whose weddings were either canceled or who purchased two dresses and now have to get rid of one.

For new dresses at a great discount I would look at bridalgown.net.  Yes it seems too good to be true and you canâ€t help but ask why the prices are as low as they are (comparatively) but itâ€s 100% legit.  Only word of caution is to give yourself plenty of time when ordering.  From my experience, and that of others, you should add 2-4 weeks to the estimated shipping window.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Happy shopping!

I know there is a Childrens charity who has a Bridal shop with only new wedding dresses!! I dont think I'll find anything there though as Im leaning to a wedding dress that some might choose for their bridesmaids. Thinking of a grey dress, might possibly stretch to ivory if I find a dress thats nice and simple. I will go and have a look though, just in case!

Do you know if your dress was made in China?

Yep .. It was made in china! even the designer wedding dresses are made there according to the bridal shop.. That made my decision to go with the dress I did. Which was a replica of the original and cost me 1100 less and looks great and weighs less!

I suppose you are right, even the designer ones are made in China. Read an interesting article the other week about Couture Fashion and its revival (apparentely there is a new breed of super rich), where the designer will fly to you and x amount of people working on the piece.

Of course Im not in that league and would be delighed if I could find a fab dress online for $200 or less!

There are SLIGHT difference with my dress.. the material is lighter Which is a plus for me since Jamaica is damn hot!

The beading is a bit different. and the train is a bit shorter. But all and all I am very happy with it and the price I paid with shipping

Its a lovely dress Danielle! I've found a few different dresses online, I think I might be brave and order one in a couple of months! In the "process" of losing weight at the moment, but will go and try on a few different dresses at the end of summer just to see if the style I want will actually suit me!

Did it take long to get it once you placed the order?
