Pre-Wedding party...what to call it?

I love this idea and it sounds like it will be a lot of fun. I think some people have called them "Bon Voyage" parties

Interesting. I also had a negative experience with the knot's forum. Ladies on there were very harsh and judgmental. I thought it was just me (although I knew better).

We still called it a reception and just stated it was a celebration for those who couldn't join us in Jamaica. We decided on a food truck and photo booth and make it more casual-- and FUN!

@@seka21 @@1BeachBride - Did you send STD's out to people only invited to your AHR and not your DW? When did you do that?

@@cassie06 I haven't gotten married yet or to this point quite yet. I was planning to do an AHR but we have about 50 people traveling for the wedding (more than we expected). Most of our close friends, parents, and a few family members will be there. So we are debating about doing the big AHR we initially planned.

We will probably just do a family BBQ in our yard so our families can celebrate and mesh after we return. We will not do STDs but will send announcements with a invite to the BBQ celebration. They will only be sent to family (even the ones who attended).
