A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

Ahh, so we just got the proofs back for our invitations and response cards. For the response cards, for yes/no I had lines saying

____ Yes, sunscreen is packed!
____ Sorry, we sunburn easily.

I sent my parents a copy of the proof to review and my Dad totally didn't understand. Like he really didn't get that was where you needed to check one or the other. Perhaps this isn't very clear and I should change it to something more simple?! What do you guys think? Will people not get it?

We also got in a debate about if it's beef filet or beef fillet.

I could easily change to:

____ Joyfully accepts

____ Regretfully declines

if that will be more clear??

My invitations say:

__ My bags are packed

__ Can't find my passport

Would that make more sense to him?  Alternatively you could write that they will celebrate from afar?

I was told at the salon that I shouldn't go more than 8 weeks ahead of time.  So sometime in september.

i`m just finishing up my invites.  I decided to do the boarding pass style.  I`ll post pics in a few days after i`m done assembling them all.  Mine say:

___ Our bags are packed. Save us a chair!

___ We regret but we sunburn easily!

Thanks Diana, that helps a lot to hear yours says something similar! Have you mailed yours out already? I was thinking about sending out ours in mid-to-late August, asking for a reply by the beginning of October.

Yes, I sent our invites out on Friday.  If you can believe it, Canada Post delivered them really quickly.  Some were delivered as early as Tuesday, they were sent from Ontario to BC by Wednesday.  Shockingly, the invitation was received in Scotland before anywhere else!

Save the dates went out at the beginning of March.  Invitations the middle of July.  I put an RSVP date of September 2nd, for a November 21 wedding.  I thought that I was a bit behind on the invitations compared to a lot of other brides on this website (esp other November 2013 brides).  Your wedding is about a month after mine, so it seems like our timelines are really similar.  However, I really don't think it matters at all when you send them out, or when your RSVP date is, as long as it's enough time to finalize things with the resort.  You probably also have a pretty good idea of who you have attending already anyway, right?

Wow, A+ for Canada Post! I actually joked that when we moved to Alberta from Ontario we should have shipped all our furniture with Canada Post, as it would have arrived quicker with them than it did with the moving company (2+ months).

Our timelines do sound quite similar! You're just under four months away, that's so crazy! We do have a good idea of our #'s so far, but a few people actually surprised us and booked just within the past few weeks. Most people who booked did so right away. There's also a few people I expected to come, who aren't, but I'm getting over it. It's caused a few arguments though. I still wonder if people will book last minutes (i.e. after we have asked for our response cards back). Guess we can deal with that if it happens!

FI and I have decided to join the "eat within a 100 miles (kilometers) of home" club. However, the reasons we joined aren't strickly in keeping it local, and reducing our carbon footprint (which are awesome benefits!). We are doing what we can to cut out preservatives, hormones, and reducing how much crap we eat. So this will force us to accomodate our eating with what is available, and allow us to focus on exactly what we are eating.

We're also going to join a gym (one close to us is having a deal, so we are hoping we can go in and get the rest of the year paid in full upfront at this deal, so as not to lose it). We are going to hold each other accountable for going- he actually wants me to get a personal trainer for the first few weeks, so that way I will be "forced" to go, and by default, he will as well haha.

I also started to write a gratitude journal every day as well. It is called The Five Minute Journal. You write in it first thing in the morning- 3 things you are grateful for, 3 things that would make today great (3 things you can control- not just a sunny, warm day, but things like "I will stay positive when faced with a difficult coworker, etc.), and a daily affirmation (right now I am focusing on reminding myself I am strong, capable and beautiful, because I realized I haven't changed jobs (currently dislike mine with a sever passion) because I am terrified I will fail at anything different).

Then, right before you go to bed, you write in it again. You write 3 amazing things that happened today, and about how could I have made today better. This is the "time machine" section, where if you said or did something you wish you could have done differently, you write it there. You write what you would have done instead. (aka yesterday I wrote that I would be a patient and understanding driver when behind a slow driver because I was not the best version of myself and was saying some not very nice things at the person in front of me, because there seemed to be no reason why they were driving so slow).

It's a cool way of maintaining perspective and really seeing your day in the best way possible!

So all in all, I think the past week has been good steps forward. Eating better, exercising properly, and maintaining a positive, grateful attitude towards my life should help in losing weight, fitting into that dress, and become a better, happier person!

Funny enough, one of my mantra's is from The Help. "You is kind, you is smart, you is important".
