A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

I missed where you asked what kind of Zumba, just regular for now. But my gym does have a few different kinds if you pay extra, I gotta look into that (or when they start)or keep my eye out for a groupon.

Weighed myself this morning, 5lbs!!!!!!

Ahhh, I think it's a good trait to have- set your goals super high, and even if you dont make it, you still went further than if you had set them lower ;)

For me, my measurement check will be when the corset can tye up all the way, and when it doesn't pull in the middle anymore.

See, not very attractive, but when it just flows down, ohhh, the beauty of it :D

woot.gifGreat job being down 5 lbs!!!!!!!!

Zumba Sentao = Zumba + chair

In my classes, you do push-ups, leg and arm exercises and crunches. It doesn't look that bad until you have to do 8 while coordinating with the music. lol (Whenever you do repetitive exercises, count how many the instructor does before I did, I always thought she did like 20 of each. haha)

Zumba Toning = Zumba + 1 lb toning sticks (if you want to tone, you can purchase heavier sticks. My awesome Zumba instructor suggests you get 5 lbs in order to tone. Plus, you can also bring your own weights.) (The Zumba sticks actually make noises when you shake them...it's really cool actually. While we are doing arm exercises, I shake them more so I can make my own music. lol)

Zumba Ripped = Zumba + chair + toning sticks (A couple of songs of just Zumba, then a couple of songs with just the chair or the toning sticks. So, you don't have to worry about a song having a chair and toning sticks...that's shouldn't happen!)

It may be ambitious...but, it's not impossible! You can get that zipper up! I think the ability to get that dress up is motivation enough! Yay for losing 5 lbs!!!!!!! cheer2.gif

Yes, Groupon and LivingSocial both have Zumba class offers.

HEY, I actually know what Tim Hortons is! :) lol. Before I left Canada, I stopped there to get a chocolate donut and coffee. With whatever kind of coffee I order they asked, "Would you like chocolate milk or regular milk?" I was confused! confused.gif(<--- that was me) haha. So they must have known I was American. lol. But, chocolate milk, please! woot2.gifUnfortunately, I had TOO much sugar and felt sick for hours! sad.gif

Their coffee/Canadian coffee tastes different than American coffee. Besides, the whole chocolate milk thing! lol

haha sounds like you got an Iced Cappachino.... that is where I think they offer regular milk or chocolate milk. I always get mine with Chocolate because it is so much healthier than the normal iced capp, because they make it usually with 18% cream.

First off, yay I learned how to multiple quote...so now, the whole thread is not just me. lol. But, how do you nest two quotes together?

Hey, I actually know what Goodlife is too! lol. I just learned about it the other day actually. haha

$50 is a fantastic deal for two people! At that rate, why not workout? Seems to work out so perfectly for the two of you!

I'm glad that you are out of that mental space. I know how crushing it is. I was there a few weeks ago. It's like how did I let this happen. How could my weight have crept up this much and I was seemingly oblivious?!

But, the important thing is that we are all here. We are making a conscious effort to lose the weight....and we have weight loss buddies! smile159.gif

Wow, Jenny is so crazy how much I can relate to you on this stuff! I am 5'4.5" and started at 190. Got on the scale today and I lost 1lb so now I'm 180.6 lbs. I'm disappointed because I thought that I would have been at or under 180. But, I also only went to 3 Zumba classes this week instead of the usual 4. However, I quickly recovered from my disappointment when I realized that I lost 3% of my body fat, .5" from my waist and .25" from my stomach since last week. So, at least, it is coming off! woot.gif

I was thinking the exact same thing about the weekly check in. What day works best for you ladies? Is Sunday good? Along with the weekly check in, I think we should share our measurement losses once a month. How does that sound? What if we also had a theme for each week (ie. 5 weight loss tips that have worked for you, new recipe you tried, snack ideas, etc.)?

Oh, Amir (FH) and I have always tried to work out together. During university we managed to do it for a solid 4 months together. Now, we know it's just not possible. Our schedules are too different, and now that he is working downtown Toronto, and me out in Oakville (opposite ways from our apartment), it just isn't possible at all. The more we tried to work out schedules together, the more we found we were just preventing the other from going to the gym haha. So now he get's a major discount with his work for Goodlife, the two of us can join for $400/year, and go to any location. And with my work, I can get reimbursed back $350 of that, so for a year we pay $50 for the two of us to go to the gym. Kind of an awesome deal. So now he will go to the gym that is in his work building, and I will go to one on my way home :)

Honestly, when I stepped on the scale for real after Christmas, and didn't try to shift my weight so the number was less, it brought tears to my eyes. I remember last spring, sitting down with my parents (they had a "happiness intervention"- thought Amir and I were having major issues and I was miserable. Turns out I was, but about how I felt about myself..... and they were majorly projecting their own lack of happiness onto me. My relationship was perfectly fine- and got better a few months later!). Anyways, I digress. When I sat down with them and said my highest weight was 185, that was the truth. So to see that I worked my ass off all summer for our vacation, got down to about 170, and then to balloon up to 192 in 4 short months, I was seriously crushed. I hated absolutely everything about me- it was soul crushing. And I had those vicious thoughts, of "how could he possibly want to marry someone so fat". It was wicked awful. Thank God I quickly got out of that mindset.

Anyways, yes, so seeing my number be almost back down to 180, even dropped to 178 for a couple short weeks, it was a HUGE relief. And now, it is to keep it completely off!

My absolute ultimate goal is to get down to about 120, as I am 5'4, and while it would make me skinny, I would be content being at 130, but having major muscle tone.

I am fine with being weight loss buddies!!!! It's always nice to have the support, and I lost the weight from Christmas by being a part of the "Biggest Loser Challenge" on here. Didn't win, but at the end of it, I didn't care, as I was losing, and that's what counted to me! We should have like a weekly check in, to keep us on track and accountable :)

I saw a meme on pinterest awhile back. It said somethign along the lines of "oh, what I wouldn't give to go back to 22 and be as fat as I thought I was then". Seriously, at 22, I had only put on maybe 25 pounds. I think I was sitting around 150, at the absolute max. Yeah, what I wouldn't give to be as fat as that right now haha. But c'est la vie!

Let me see if I learned Canadian coffee lingo. A triple triple is 3 creams and 3 sugars. Right?

Hmm...maybe it's the wedding stress. But, I see you found my customized binder thread...so that should be help to reduce some stress! :) Maybe you find my thread about your favorite (alcoholic) drink. I think you could have some awesome drink ideas to share. :)

So funny how I read this and knew absolutely everything you said. Gotta love being Canadian! Ahh, double doubles. Not so bad- FI used to drink extra large triple triples. Soooooo sweet.

I drink pop too- not as bad as FI (who is a pepsi fanatic), but I will have about 5 or 6 for the week. At work all I drink is water, which is good. But i don't drink enough. And then at home I'll have a glass or two of wine, or a rum and coke/ beer/ yesterday i had a vodka and cranberry. I don't know why I am drinking so much- used to go weeks without drinking, now it's like every other night. Gotta stop that right now. Handle my stress better.

Haha crack coffee. Maybe when you think they are putting the "sugar" in...it's a sugar-crack combo. haha

Yes, instead of sugar, I've been eating fruit. The interesting thing is when I am eating very American, I rarely eat fruit and veggies (esp. salad). But, I love fruit and salad. It's so funny...whenever my FH and I are together, I'm always talking about craving a salad (or Subway). lol

Jenny, if you like lemon, you MUST try oranges and lime (though not together...hmm that may be a good idea. I have to try that now.) in your water.

If you love popcorn, try making your own popcorn. I have lately...so yummy! (Coming someone who is picky about popcorn)

I wish I could get rid of my craving for sweets. As long as I eat fruit, I can contain it, but for me, it's salt. I absolutely CRAVE salt- chips, crackers, popcorn, etc. So bad. Cannot seem to turn it down.

Love fruit in water :) Definitely makes it a lot easier to drink more of, because there is a flavour to it!

Jenny, I love your dress! Simply beautiful! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bodice.

Thanks for sharing your pic!

Hi all, I thought I might suggest the isagenix cleanse. I did the 9 day one and lost 7 pounds, my friend did the 30 day one to look good for my wedding =) and lost 18 pounds. I also personally know 2 other people that have used it and lost significant weight.

On another note, I am actually very worried about my first fitting! When I first bought my dress I was a 10 in street clothes and I was told to order an 18 because of my hips! But my waist was more of a 14, now I have lost about 15 pounds and am a size 6-8 in street clothes.  I am just hoping the alterations will not change the dress too much!! Do any of you know what are the possibilities?

Hmm...the cleanse seems interesting. What is it exactly?

Like hezmshaw, you could buy your dress in a smaller size if you know that you are going to be losing more weight.

Can I just say how much I love that this thread caught on?? :)

I like the idea of Sunday weigh-ins!  It's different from my weigh-in at work so it keeps me from "celebrating" with a treat.

Oh my gosh, iced capps are the nectar of all things evil... I love them.. but wow, 18% cream and a TON of sugar.... so now

you know why you didn't feel well lol.

Jenny2014, your dress looks great!

It is basically a diet plan and a cleanse in one. It includes meal and snack replacements as well as the juice for the cleanse so you alternate between cleanse days and meal days. I don't know the details about it but if you would like more info just pm me and I can refer you to my friend. She will be glad to explain! I didn't expect to lose so much weight after buying my dress, not that I'm not happy just a little worried about my dress!

It's awesome when people are really interact with a thread...even better when you kick it off! The ladies in this thread have great chemistry, vibe, personalities, etc.  thewave.gif Thanks for starting this thread!

Yay for Sunday weigh-ins (hope it works for Jenny too!) Should we try and set goals for each week too as an extra motivator?

If I had only known about the intense amount of sugar when I bought it...but, I'm glad that I had that experience. I love trying new things when I go to different countries! love.gif
