Hi Ladies.....

Well here are some of my DIY projects....and there are more to come...lol  Thank you so much to everyone for sharing their ideas, and advice!  This site has been amazing!  so many talented people, and so much support for the whole destination wedding experience!

My Message in a Bottle invitations, inspired by Venus, and too many others to name....

These were painstaking!  I don't suggest this project if you have a lot of invitations to do.....it became extremely overwhelming at certain points but the end result is beautiful!  I do have some extra boxes made up and bottle as well that I may put on here  to sell! I can save someone part of the headache, since we narrowed our guest list a little bit!

The wedding hangers were super easy believe it or not!  I was a litte intimidated to try them at first, and almost ordered them off etsy.  I googled a tutuorial for them and thats when I came across Philanab on this webiste.  Great post with simple instructions. I wanted them for myself, my mom, and my bridesmaids so It was going to be a bit pricey from etsy!  I got the hangers at Walmart a 5 pack for less than $5.00 and two rolls of 12g wire 5yards in the floral section at michaels for $3.99/roll  ( use  your 40% off coupons) and ribbon at michaels that was on sale maybe $2.00 each roll.  I spend less than $15 on this, plus the cost of a bottle of wine, which my fiance likes to remind me of......lol

The ring bowl for the ring bearer was something I kept checking out on etsy and was planning on ordering!  I hadn't seen any posts on a diy for these but In my hunt of free DIY projects and just ideas in general I came across a website http://www.intimateweddings.com/blog/diy-ring-bowl-made-from-oven-bake-clay/

I headed back to michaels with another coupon and got started.  The only thing I noticed was the amount they told you to purchase was way too large!  I got the sculpey 227g (8oz) bar, and I actually made two bowls...the first one didn't come out bowl shaped enough.... tip make sure you use  a bowl that is going to give it a bowl shape! my initial one was too flat!  I bought a couple of stamps to use  that were 40%off and I got some sand paper at walmart for less than $2.00

Any questions, just ask!  I may be a little slow in getting back to you but I will ....  had a couple of days off and it was wonderful to have some time to work on this stuff!!!

Thanks so much,

I handed out most of my MIB, have a couple to mail if I do not see them this weekend.  You can bring them to post office.  We used plastic bottles, we ordered both glass and plastic but the plastic fit better in the box.

The wedding tutorial was instructions on this site.... i believe there are tutorials on youtube though.
