Yes, Now Jade gives a very nice package for 25 people, and offer private receptions.  Private outdoor receptions are a bit more difficult, as all of the beaches in Mexico are public.  That's one reason why I'm going off-resort, but it definitely is not the most cost-effective option if you want something fairly straightforward.

Those look like great places, but we want adults only option, which doesn't look like they have.

brownsugarbride I just wanted to let you know that all of your posts are so helpful to me!!!!  thank you and I look forward to continuing to read about your wedding!

If you don't mind me asking, where are you getting married? I've seen you mention several times its off-resort.

I absolutely don't mind you asking! I will be getting married at the Blue Venado Beach Club in Playa del Carmen. Originally, I wanted to do the Grand Coral Beach Club, but the owner or owners decided to institute a brand new $2000 site fee, and my FH said no way! LOL  With Blue Venado, there is no site fee unless you are bringing in outside food. Since from all reports (past brides and wedding planner) the food is delicious, no need for me to do that!

I'm glad that I could help in some small way!  Depending on how much you want to spend, El Dorado Royale could be a great choice for you. It is an adults only resort and brides on the boards rave about it.  (You may want to PM AllieH.)  They do have some vendor restrictions, but if you're flying in your photographer, that won't be an issue.  Have you talked to a travel agent about some possibilities?

Hello Ladies,

The average cost of a wedding in the United States is estimated at about 25,000.  Destination Weddings have become very popular due to cost shifting from Bride and Groom to Individual Guest. As I read forums and posts it seems like all brides want their day to be perfect to say the least. They book the best hotels, biggest packages, best invitations and before you know it the destination wedding turns into 14,000-30,000 easily.

I am going to challenge myself to create a wedding for my FI and I with a 7,000 budget. Here is how I expect to achieve this

1. Choosing a resort that is price friendly

2. Choosing a wedding package that does not have extra things included that I will not need

3. Finding a photographer that can do amazing work with budget friendly pricing

4. Using silk flowers to make my day special

5. DIY projects in every aspect

6. Staying in basic rooms

I will keep track of my  journey by posting a lot of information in the forums.

Please add any tips to help me out.

Having a wedding on a budget does not mean sacrificing the beauty of it.

After all a wedding is about more than money, more than glam, it is about love.

I know people who have paid thousands of dollars for a luxurious wedding and they were divorced 6 months later.

I love it! I too am doing a DW on a budget and 7K sounds like a good number to start with!! Thanks for the tips!!!

Hey Ladies,

One of my budget saving tips is instead of having an open bar during cocktail hour.....check to see if the resort will allow you to choose your own specialty drink or cocktail to serve to your guest. It will save you some cash!!!!!

WONDERFUL IDEA!!!!

Hi ladies! To save money we are having our cocktail hour credited toward extra plates for dinner. We have more people than our Devine package includes. For the actual cocktail hour we are having our guest grab a drink at the bar. If you ladies decide to do this, make sure you have it in writing. My wedding isn't until 2015 but I have that deal in writing. I'm also using parasols for the BMs and using the bouquet credits for my centerpieces.

Happy Planning!

AWESOME IDEA!!! I will keep that in mind.
