For our "paper" anniversary next month, I got my husband an antique world map from 1907. Okay, so it's not the most romantic gift, but he's been mentioning that he'd like to have something like that framed in the new house and I like that it's old and unique and interesting to look at.

The girls on my local knot board have been pretty creative with first anniversary gifts.

 

many of them have bought stock certificates from oneshare.com, boudoir pics are always popular, tickets to sporting events or concerts, and one found a company that makes a print of the night sky from the night you were married.
