Does anyone know what this new Memorable Moments thing is? Is it just new decor or are they totally redoing the packages?? I hope it's going to be like Palace Resorts and you just pick a color and they do all the work for one price lol

Yes! You will need to book through the TA who booked your wedding stay, and they can have the free night certificate applied.

You can also get the honeymoon/anniversary amenities if you have a qualifying stay (the dinner on the beach, 2 for 1 massages, breakfast in bed, rose petal decoration in your room one night, etc). You'll need to bring something that shows you were married within a year or so of your stay to get that.

Allie, do you know how to book the anniversay stay?

Hi Leslie - sorry I didn't see this sooner, but you've probably figured it out. The Memorable Moments are optional packages of decor that is included in the price. They still do the a la carte pricing and decor if that's your preference, but now they have full on packages that are much more "turn key" solution for your wedding.

They aren't exactly color schemes, more like overall themes for the wedding/events.

Officiants... Does anyone have details of what your officiant was like with them? I assume they came to your wedding rehearsal? Any details about them would be lovely as the resort is giving us info about them.

@@ChiTiff - Generally your officiant won't be at the rehearsal. The rehearsal would be run by the onsite WC team, and you'll meet the officiant the day of. My understanding is you can request to meet the officiant before hand, and it will depend on his/her schedule if they are available.

What concerns do you have about the officiants? Are you doing a legal ceremony or symbolic?

Hi @@AllieH  I think I'm a little frustrated by the lack of communication from our WC regarding the details of the wedding ceremony.

We would just like to have some information about our officiant - background, speaking style, etc. since it's such a big part of the wedding ceremony.  We are just having a symbolic ceremony, but FH is NOT religious at all and would probably melt on the scene if they officiant mentioned anything religious or God oriented.  Do they have a script that they use?  Should we write one?

I'm also not clear about the ceremony rehearsal time.  Most of our guests are arriving on Thursday, and our wedding is on Saturday.  We have a fairly large wedding party(20 people including ourselves, bridal party, flower girls and ring bearer), so I need to get confirmation on a ceremony rehearsal time sooner than later.  My WC is refusing to tell me a range for time of the wedding rehearsal on Friday, saying that it must be determined by the onsite coordinator.  Friday is the only day most of our guests will have to explore the area, and I'd hate for it to be a last minute scramble.  Further, we have some kids that aren't coming until Friday evening due to school obligations.

It's not typical for your officiant to attend the rehearsal but it CAN be done. It needs to be added to your detail sheet and scheduled ahead of time- and there is a fee for them to attend. You can book this with your off site WC... We are doing this. It is $100 for 30 minutes and can be done up to 4 days prior.

You can also write your own ceremony if symbolic... And there are lots of great examples on this website.

@@ChiTiff - They do have a standard symbolic ceremony script. I'm not familiar with it though, since we chose to write our own ceremony for reasons similar to yours. That took the religion out of it and avoided a full out Groom melt down  ;)

Based on what Kim said above, they will probably need to wait until closer to your wedding date to confirm if your officiant is available prior to your ceremony. That may not work for your party to make plans for their day ahead of time - not ideal, I know!

Another option may be for you to schedule a rehearsal with your party and the onsite WC regardless of whether or not the officiant can be there. You can run through the ceremony and staging at the time you set with the help of the WC and your MOH (press her into duty!).

Then you can meet with the officiant when he/she is available. That would allow your guests to plan their day Friday, and allow you to meet with the officiant prior to your ceremony to discuss specifics, walk through the ceremony, instruct him/her specifically on the "no religious talk" rules.

Just some different thoughts & solutions. Keep in mind that a destination/resort wedding is not exactly the same as having a wedding at home where you meet with the officiant, choose who you like, etc. This is one of those items that really is up to the resort to choose & get set up.

I will tell you that our officiant spoke English very well, all of our guests understood what he was saying (as did we!) and we really had no complaints about him. We didn't meet him before hand, and our WC gave him our ceremony script (we gave it to her at our meeting).

Note that you will meet with the onsite WC the day after you arrive to the resort. So if you're also getting in on Thursday, expect to meet with them on Friday afternoon. They will tell you the day & time of your meeting when you check into the resort.

Thank you @@kmk2016 and @@AllieH . I also heard back from my WC today, so it looks like we'll at least get a ceremony run through with the onsite coordinator on Friday. I also got a copy of the standard script, so if anyone wants it, please let me know! We're definitely modifying it somewhat, but it's a good starting point!
