Seems very organized and helpful! My only issue and sure it's just with all wedding planners is that they are not negotiable in certain things..we are doing a very small wedding and not much for decorations but still so pricy and she won't allow is to Change anything or substitute , but otherwise she's great. I had emailed Fatima a few times in beginning and she seemed amazing as well, so hope the transition is smooth for you!

Hi Tbasgall,

I would still do the OOT bags, if I were to do it over again.  Our guests took their time and money to travel to Mexico for us, and we appreciated it so very much, that this was our way of recognizing them.  My friends and family still use the cups and bags we gave them, and I know they went through a lot of the Pepto and Advil while we were at the resorts too.  I've heard of other brides giving out the OOT bags before leaving town so each guest carried his/her own to Mexico, but that didn't work for us as most of our guests live in different places than we do.  But I would have done that in a heartbeat if I could have!

Fatima was our main wedding coordinator (we worked with her throughout the planning process), but I did exchange a few emails with Eleane, and she also handled our day of coordination.  I liked her a lot, and she seemed very capable.  I think you're in good hands.  :)

Amysis- thank you for all of the info. It's really helpful. I'm finding it difficult to understand the menu, but per your recommendation I will avoid the tuna salad. Kristadawn- your wedding is fast approaching. How exciting! We are bringing our own decorations because I can't justify paying the resort prices. We bought ikea lanterns and will be doing something similar to this:400.

Hi Brides to be!

I will be doing a site visit in Feb 2014, anyone having their wedding the weekend of the 7th-9th? I can't wait to see the wedding set-ups and options available. It will really help me decide how I want things to look! If anyone has any requests for photos just let me know I will do my best to get them for you! Or questions for Eleane, that is who I will be meeting with. I know it is a while away, but we aren't getting married until Feb 2015, so I have time :) I say that now and I know it will fly by! Let me know if any of you will be there!

You are getting a huge head start!! We will be leaving the resort before you arrive. I'm sure you will be able to see a wedding though as they happen all the time. We watched on from the ocean one year! Having been to this resort twice previously, I'm confident that you will fall in love with it!

Ok everyone, I have a question about transportation in PV....Has anyone looked into renting cars? I have never been to PV before and when we go for our site visit in Feb we were thinking this would be a cheaper way to go than using a cab, and we could try it our and let our guests know if it is a good idea or not....Any thoughts on this? I would love to hear what some of you are doing for transportation from the airport to the hotel. Thanks!!!

Yeah I don't know that I love the idea, but I think we are going to do it for our visit in Feb. Can you tell me how much your transfer was that your guests all got? Maybe I should find something like that, although I am not going through a travel agent currently, just working direct with the hotel.

The travel agent booked round trip transfers as part of the packages for $40. I found that working with the travel agent was actually less expensive for our guests than booking directly with the resort. She also priced matched anything that we found online, so some our our guests were able to book a package for 7 nights airfare and hotel, for under $1300 during high season which is incredible. As the bride and groom, we still qualified for the wedding promotion that the resort gives. For every 5 rooms booked, we got a room free--up to 3 free nights. For your visit, I would recommend NOT renting a car. A taxi ride to town is 50 pesos. Hope this is helpful.
