RSVP Timeframe????

Recommended Posts

Jessica, I think 5 months may be a little too early to have them RSVP by, because you will probably get a LOT of people who will say they can go, but then alot can change in 5 months and you may end up having a lot of last minute drop outs..  I am doing my RSVP deadline 15 days after the entire balance is due to the travel agent (1.5 months before the wedding)- that way everyone will have a pretty good idea that either they ARE or aren't going to be attending.

I was thinking of only writing the names of single people on the RSVP cards so that they know they can bring a guest. I keep reading that it's not good etiquette to put the invitees name "and guest" on the outer envelope.

If you have inner envelopes, you can put the invitee name on the envelope and guest on this envelope while on the outer envelope just address it to the invitee. This shows the invitee they can invite a guest and gets over the "good etiquette" problem.

This was so helpful. We'll aim to have the RSVP around 2 months or so before the wedding day.

Also, I am fully prepared to chase people down lol! This is something I actually don't mind doing as I can usually come across as quite gentle hahah :) But I will push if need be! LOL

We hope to finalize our wedding date by May sometime, and then we will be sending out Save the Dates electronically ASAP. Wedding date likely in early march or may of 2014. I really want people to get Save the Dates early early!!!
