Once I had the general idea of a number I made exactly three extras of everything just in case. We have 21 confirmed guests but I have 24 favors, welcome bags etc. ...even if they do not end up coming your better off having some extras in case some are damaged on the flight

don't count on those that "have let you know" just yet. I have read so much about how so many people say they will go and at the end they do not go. Go only by the number or rooms booked

I completely here you!!! We had 4 people drop out who said they were going but never booked. The 21 I have counted are already booked. Were getting married October 19th so at this point I feel pretty good with that number but emergencies do happen !

We just had our wedding website and almost everyone booked through our travel agency (paying was their 'RSVP' pretty much). We had a few that made their own arrangements (fine with me) and asked that they be sure to let us know if they were coming. We then had to send their details (names, arrival dates, airline, etc) to the resort! Easy as can be... well, mostly. A few little glitches here and there, but all in all, so relaxing.

We had a guest or two that put down a deposit but then changed their mind and couldn't come and we've had others who originally told us no, who have had their plans change and can now join us. :)
I didn't really find the RSVP cards useful at all. But that's just me... Our guests will get a menu for dinner, so we don't need to give the restaurant meal choices or anything of that nature.

Since we're going to Cuba, I think we'll just give everyone a nice bottle of rum as a gift (well, different treats for the kids).

I'm happy to say that I am still feeling pretty carefree! So glad that we are having a destination wedding. Our vibe is casual and relaxed, so I want to enjoy every minute.

Hi Ladies!!  So I am now starting to panic.  I just e-mailed the invitation company that all my fiends used for an appointment for next Saturday b/c I know I am cutting it close with my time line.  My fiancee and I are getting married in June 2014 so I need to send the invited out ASAP.  We got engaged in September and had our website up and our STD's in the mail right before Thanksgiving.  I feel pressured to get the formal invites in the mail but I feel with a DW the STD is bigger deal than the invitation.  I see the STD as a 'you're invited so look into this and book asap' and the formal invitation is sent out as a formality.

Here is my plan (if it works great) I plan to send out the invites in Aug 2013 with a RSVP deadline of Jan 2015.  The actual booking deadline is the end of Feb.  I am doing my passport invite as a brochure to get people excited but get them the info that they need. My wedding is 4/25/15.
