Gran Porto or Royal Playa del carmen

was going to book or wedding at royal playa del carmen but reconsidered due to the extra fees to pay for non-resort guests attending the wedding.  what is the best way options?  hopefully they will book at the gran porto...sister resort that is kid friendly...or is better to have a wedding at gran porto and have a local reception? i am concerned with costs adding up because of not having control if guests that may not stay at the resorts.  Any feedback of which resort may be better on a decent budget but in a lovely venue?  thanks

I have the same dilemma and not sure what the best solution is.  We're looking to have a wedding at The Royal, but have no control over where guests stay and are afraid that the guests will prefer to stay someplace else and we'll start racking up the cost for non-Real guests.  

 

What did you do decide on?  Please please share!
