I F-ing Hateeeee My Boss; What A B*tch

Heidi, what are the policies about being out, if you provide a dr. note I really don't think she can deny you your sick leave.

There is a legal issue here, maybe Glenda will chime in sometime today, but her behavior is quite honestly inappropriate for a boss and seems to be borderline in violation of your own personal rights. Maybe look up some information on the family medical leave act.

U.S. Department of Labor: Compliance Assistance: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

also, do you get bereavement time? I know that we can take off time for bereavement and that is what this should have been.

I DO NOT think you're over-reacting at all!! I think she's being a bitch. Plain and simple. The ONLY somewhat valid point she has is that she probably should have been notified that you'd be out for xx amount of days. But I think an email would have been sufficient for that ...or even if Reggie had called to inform her...that way she can't gripe and guilt you into doing something you're not ready for.

I'm SO sorry that you're facing this right now. I'd be very very tempted to quit and leave her high and dry. And then see if there's a way to file a formal complaint about her w/ the company so that it's very clear her unprofessional attitude is what caused you to quit and look for work elsewhere.

What a bitch...seriously.

heidi - beyotch is too nice of a word for her - she is a FUCKING BITCH! (no */% or pretend curse words for her)

1st of all - i agree with all of the girls - why not start looking for a new job now?

and 2nd - you seriously may want to consult an attorney - that miserable witch deserves to get it stuck to her.

i am sorry that you have to deal with this on top of everything else - that really sucks! i want to kick her ass rant.gif

I think that is very inconsiderate of her. I think it was very brave of you to go back so soon and I don't think you are overreacting at all.

Does she not realize you are dealing with physical and emotional issues here? Has she ever had problems of her own? Is this how she usually deals with things?

I am so sorry you have to deal with such a terrible person.

Similar situation after my boyfriend had died.

I was still in shock, I called work, my roommate called as well to let my boss know I was going to the funeral in Florida. When I got back she said she expected me to call everyday! Ugh!

I was so emotional because of thing I had to deal with at work, that had to do with the accident (small college town, small company), that she said she might have to let me go because I was too emotional.

I quit instead. Then she said because I didn't call I wasn't getting my commission for the month. I didn't have the energy to fight it. After that friend ssuggested small claims court. But she got it back at her.

I agree about karma. This was a family owned print shop.

About a week after I quit the graphic designer quit because of how they treated me. I was training for her job, ha!

I am not saying my situation was the same... I cannot imagine your mental state right now sweetie. But that behaviour from her is not right.

Wow, I can NOT believe she did that. You must be a very strong woman not to have slugged her and walked out.

And, since those four days didn't count as your vacation days, I say you TAKE your vacation days for the next week. Except this time don't listen to your voicemails or handle things from home. Screw that. She can see that you really were making sure everything was taken care of while you were gone.

This is the first thing that popped into my head too. I don't know the regulations regarding how an employer can force time off, or what type time off can be required, but this definitely sounds fishy. And, quite frankly, if you want to take paid time off, you can, unless your company has specific guidelines and rules regarding approval for time off, etc, I would do some reserach and challenge it.

It definitely sounds like she could be a hell of a lot more sensitive to your needs. The only thing I can see validity in is that someone probably should have had someone call in for you. Other than that, she is being extremely harsh on you. I think you should still get your paid days. I would definitely look into legal action if you can.
