Post Wedding entertainment-Who pays?

Recommended Posts

Hi there going to Playa del Carmen, Grand Riviera Princess. When we were there last spring we went to Coco Bongo (club/show).A wedding party was there. We thought that was awesome and are doing it as well instead of traditional dance after dinner. Its about $100/pp for the full deal there is grp discount but not sure how much yet.Whats the rules with this? We pay?Pay 50% or have guests pay? Please advise thanks

Personally I would be offended if I paid/traveled to Mexico for a destination wedding, and then was asked to pay $100pp to go to a club/show as the reception. I wouldn't ask an invited guest to pay for their dinner at the reception, and I really don't view this differently.

Just my opinion...

Preferably the couple would pay but if its optional and not your 'main reception' then I think the guests can pay. So you have the ceremony, dinner or whatever with the first dances etc, and then whoever wants to go on can go on. Especially since coco bongo might not be for everyone!
