Traveling with bridal gown

Hi! I just got married in Cancun and flew AirTran through funjet. I carried my dress on in a garment bag and had no issues. It did get folded in half and put in an over head bin, but the flight attendant blocked the bin so no one else put anything in there. It helped that the plan was not very full. I did not pay extra and it was no hassle. I did have an appointment to have the dress steamed before the wedding so I wasnt worried about it being folded.

Just called jet Blue to find out about bringing my dress on, there is currently no option for dress. Get there early and pray that the staff will be accommodating!

Great that I found this! So glad to know how so many people got their dresses to their destinations no problem. Was anyone ever stopped through security or told they couldn't take up a whole overhead bin themselves? What did you do?
