Cruise Brides share some ideas...

I too am getting married on RC Brilliance of the Seas. The photographers onboard are very talented and professional. The wedding package includes several photos, however they have photo sessions every night on board the ship and you can take formal or casual photos with numerous backgrounds. We get our family pics done on the cruise ships every year. Both Carnival and RC have some of the best photographers around.

I am unfamiliar with the TTD...what's that all about??

I am planning on doing the trash the dress photos. We are getting married in baltimore on the carnival Pride. When we get to the first stop I am going to just have a friend with a good camera come down and take pics. I am actually hoping to get all of my bridesmaids, groomsmen and groom to also do this with me... I think it would be so fun to have the entire bridal party in the ocean in our wedding outfits.

That sounds great! I'm still not sure I want 2 do TTD it's not really my personality. But I still have a lot of time so we will see what I decide! Lol

We're taking Carnival Conquest in November.  I'm getting married while in port in St. Thomas.  We decided to use an independent wedding planner on the island.  We will get back on the ship a few hours before the ship leaves St. Thomas to have a reception on board.  The reception is a 2 hour open bar with cake and music, snacks, etc.

One of my friends will be coming with us to take pictures.  She's not a professional or anything.  It will just be nice to have her since she can take pictures of the entire day.  They will also be giving us a Carnival photographer at the reception.  I want to have the guests eat at the steakhouse onboard.  We will pay for everyone's dinner.  It will be about $35/pp.  I can't book that ahead of time...that stinks!  We will just have to go right to the steakhouse when we get onboard and book it.

I'm taking the Carnival Legend in April 2014. Could you please share whatever knowledge you have about Carnival's option for a reception? rolleyes.gif

My FI and I were discussing doing the steakhouse in lieu of a reception. Thanks for giving me a heads up that you can't book the reservation ahead of time. That's such a disappointment!!!! thatswck.gif

If you send me your e-mail, I could e-mail you the form Carnival sent me.  It has the different packages they offer and music options.

I'm a bit worried about the Steakhouse for such a large group of people.  I'm just going to go right there as soon as I get on-board.  If it doesn't work out, dinner in the dining room will have to do.

Thanks for the offer, Dawn! :)

I think I'm going to have to go with the same mindset as you...it's either the steakhouse or the formal dining room. But, I would much rather prefer the steakhouse. I don't know that the reception would have the right vibe with the people that we anticipate coming. So I think it would be more fun (and cost effective) with either the steakhouse or the dining room. I don't think I'm going to stress about it! The only thing that I'm going to have to figure out is what to put on the wedding day timeline for the wedding dinner!

Any suggestions on how to deal with this issue? feedback.gif

Our travel agent just called us a few days ago.  Apparently there is a way to book the steakhouse.  I guess a Carnival rep came into AAA.  He gave my travel agent a number, he called it and wants us to pay him the money to arrange it.  I don't know all the details, my fiance went to meet with him.  I guess we just need to take him the money, he'll book it right then and it will be all set.  The only problem...we don't know the exact number of people going yet (some people are still iffy about it).  But I think we will book for what we think will come, hopefully that won't change.  Probably an easy fix even if the number changes.  Once I know more, I will let you know.

Thank you! I would love to hear whatever you know!

Just the other day, I was looking up more info about the steakhouse. I think you can actually advance book the steakhouse if you have 11 or more in your party (if I remember correctly).

As a side note, I know that the Caribbean is well known for its rum cake. I know that the Tortuga Rum Cakes company has a website. But, I just wanted to know if anyone has cruised lately and bought some. If so, where did you buy them? How much were they? What size were they?

Thanks in advance!
