Now Amber Resort in Puerto Vallarta Brides

Recommended Posts

I'm not getting a dance floor - I think it's unnecessary.

And I'll agree - i've found EVERYTHING to be expensive at the Now Amber.  Sicne we just did my sisters wedding last year we've got a good basis for comparison to our local market (Vancouver, BC which is not known for being cheap).  I'd say pretty much everything costs just as much at the Now as it would at home.

Oh well, ultimately we still save money since there are going to be so many fewer people there...but it's still really expensive!

lmah - it's just way too early to look for that time frame.  The prices will come down.   Where are you coming from?  All of my guests seemed to be able to go for between 1000-1500 for 6-7 night (this includes flight, hotel based on double occupancy, and all taxes).  We were coming from all over the western USA and from Vancouver.
Hi cbott, we are mostly coming from edmonton and San Francisco area. The prices you got are amazing! When is your wedding? I hope the prices come down but it just seems when I look at the prices online it's much cheaper for 2013 than 2014 so I am assuming that they made it cheaper for 2013 since it is a new hotel and they are trying to promote it?

Has anyone got quotes on the cost of hair & make up at the resort?  I assumed I would use the resort but I just realized there are no prices listed on the website so now I'm bracing myself for another price gouge.

I'm starting to get really annoyed with how insanely over pieced everything is.  Not that I had the time (planned the whole thing in a rush) but I wish I'd had time to shop around a little and get a better sense of what the extra costs would be.  Sheesh.  It sucks to pay SO MUCH MORE than I would pay for the same things at home.

Hey all, I am at now amber right now and I'll give you some pointers -Overall good food except the buffet is sub par compared to other resorts like the Riu. Most restaurants are a la carte anyway and they are good. Room service is good too, get it and have breakfast on your balcony! - all rooms are ocean view but the higher you are the better the view. Rooms on the secrets side have lots of noise from dogs and roosters. -Very rocky beach, you'll definitely need water shoes. If you're planning in runs along the beach, think again. -Easy for adults to go back and forth between the two sides -lots of vendors on the beach - lots of good taco stands right outside the resort and great $25 massages! - very nice rooms I'll post more when I think if it! :)

I am also just starting to plan our wedding at now amber for March 2014. My fiance just proposed to me in Puerto Vallarta last February, so we decided to get married there as well :) We will be having a very small wedding(under 20 people) so I'm thankful that I won't be spending much more than the package offers. My parents have time share so we will be booking our rooms through them and am so grateful that the prices are significantly lower than through a travel agency. I am a little concerned that the beach will be too rocky or there will be a lot of other people on the beach. When I was in PV last February/early March I watched a wedding from my balcony that was on a pier and I felt so bad for the couple because there were still a lot of people out on the beach as well as vendors and it was during sunset!! I originally was thinking of getting married in Nuevo Vallarta because the beaches are MUCH nicer and bigger with NO vendors but I just fell in love with this resort. I haven't booked it yet but am very close. I should also mention that I have traveled to Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta over a dozen times ever since I was a little girl so any of you that haven't had much time spent there please don't hesitate to ask :)

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to check in quickly so say that I just got back from my wedding at the Now Amber yesterday and is a was a HUGE SUCCESS!  I'll post a detailed review for all of you soon, but the Coles notes are this: everyone LOVED the resort, Edith is a doll, the wedding went off without a hitch, the location was gorgeous.  We had about 60 people.

Total dream wedding.  Ahhh...me and the hubs are totally blessed out about it.
