@@Ydolem how do we look at your gallery ?? Lol this site confuses me still

To view someone's photos in their gallery....

1) click on their profile name

2) once their profile comes up, along the top by their name are a bunch of small grey tabs...about in the middle you'll see "Gallery".

3) click on "gallery" and their photos will come up

Hi there, I'm new to this site but have been reading some of the latest posts on this thread and the other Azul Sensatori threads. We are all booked and set to marry May 7th, 2015 with our ceremony on the beach and our reception at Plaza Zavas. All of the links to the DIY ideas have been so helpful- I'm particularly thinking of bringing our own sheers for the ceremony as the cost is pretty high even for the simple white sheers. My question for everyone who has gotten married on the beach and brought their own sheers (@Ydolem) is concerning measurements. How much fabric did you need to order, and did you have any issues with it being wrinkled at all once you brought it? Did they charge you a set up fee for that?

Secondly, we have had about 33 people respond as attending, including our wedding party (6 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen and my son, the ring bearer). We are not expecting many more "yes's" at this point-10 max. For the reception, We plan on having bride and groom and one table with our groomsmen at a table to our left and the bridesmaids at a table to our right and then 8 people per table at the remaining tables for our guests. It doesn't look like we'll have more than 6 tables at this point. For anyone with experience, will we have enough people/tables to really fill the Plaza Zavas space without it looking empty? We're starting to wonder if we picked the wrong reception area for our number of people. Again, not expecting more than 40-45 give or take at this point.

Btw, we chose the Pure Glamour package for our reception but are going to do our own center pieces! Thinking of using the bridesmaids bouquets as centerpiece's with DIY seashells candles and a starfish :) so glad I found this site, already have found ways to save money and get creative with all the advice I've read!

ObeBride07- Welcome!

Beach gazebo, you will need 2 sheers measuring 12m x 1.5m wide each.

As for filling up Plaza Zavas, I would not worry about it. They will arrange it in such as way that you feel connected and yet fill up the space. I have seen set ups for 20-ish guests and 80-ish guests and they both look great.

You will be charged a set-up fee for hanging the sheers and decorating. Do not discuss this with your Miami based Wedding coordinator. They do not have any knowledge or pricing for it. Once you get to the resort, the onsite coordinators will look at all the additional items you have for setup and come up with a price. Usually a good guess is about $5/ guest. But most times the average seems to be $150-200. The max I have heard is $250.

@@ObeBride07 Your decor concept sounds fantastic!

We ordered one sheer from Lomas, which is ridiculously expensive.

One thing we noticed when we were at the BDR is that the sun goes down really quickly- our reception begins at 6PM and by then it will be completely dark! We were planning to order centrepieces, but they aren't super visible in the dark, so I think re-using the bridesmaids bouquets will be just fine.

I agree with @@murmel I think your group will enjoy the Plaza Zavas regardless of size.

Best wishes for your wedding planning!

Hi,

Has anyone picked the colonial charm package? It is the one I like the most but I don't think that I need all of it.  i am thinking of asking just for the tables at the reception to be decorated and without the purple. Has anyone had experience picking and choosing from a memorable moments package? Any thoughts about colonial charm? It the table decor worth the money?

Thanks :)

The memorable moments packages are 100% customizable. You can use them as shown at the price reflected, or you can take certain components and pay ala carte. That is the way the entire concept was designed! You can most definitely use parts and not others. I had this question as well initially- and received this info at the BdR last June
