Ocean Coral & Turquesa Info

Recommended Posts

I recently booked my wedding at Ocean Coral for May of this year.  I haven't received any information from Ana yet although she stated she would be sending a price list.  How long does is typically take to get this information and does anyone happen to have a recent price list they could share?  Has anyone done the complimentary wedding?  I'm trying to figure out what it really includes.

I am getting married there in April 2013, Ana tries to get back to you as quickly as possible. Some times it can take her a week or two to get back to you, but she always will.  If i can get my pricing sheets attached i will try to send them to you.  It can be a little frustrating but it will all work out.  Whenever she gets back to me, no matter how long it took, she always remembered every detail that i had previously went over with her.

Hi!  I recently booked my wedding at Ocean Coral for August 2013!!  We are so excited!!  However, I am having the hardest time getting a hold of Ana and it's making me a little nervous.  Also, how does making all of the decisions work?  We have decided where the ceremony will be, which package, and major things like that, but what about the details like what flowers and where to have the reception, and what cake, etc.....  Do we decide that before (does Ana send me pictures) or do we decide that when we get there?

Any helpful information would be much appreciated!!

Thanks ladies!

We're getting married here in January 2014!  The correspondence has been a little slow but I have been assured by brides who have recently married there that this isn't anything to be concerned about.  When they do get back to you they will send a spreadsheet that has all the details (cake, flowers, ceremony, reception space, etc) with pictures.  Once you've decided, you send the form back to them.  I know it's easier said than done but try not to get too nervous around this.  I got the following tips from someone who was married their earlier this year:

"Communication between the wedding planner (s) and myself was extremely slow and very

frustrating; however, our travel agent assured me time and time again; not to become anxious or frustrated as everything

would be handled efficiently when we arrived at the resort and met with the wedding planner.

I didnâ€t listen very well and there were many times; our travel agent intervened and expedited the replies from the

resort on my behalf.

Youâ€ve heard the cliche – “Live and Learnâ€.  Do yourself a HUGE favour.  It is April and your wedding is scheduled for January.  Do not waste another minute worrying about whether or not the wedding planners at the resort are answering your e-mails.

I told myself if I had it to do all over again I would do the following:

1.   plan to arrive at least 3 days ahead of our guests

2.   rest; be assured and trust your travel agent has made the resort well aware they are hosting a destination wedding and she will ensure all accomodations and travel arrangements are made for yourselves and guests.  You shouldnâ€t have to worry about this.

3.   Upon arrival; there will be a message for you with a time and place to meet with the wedding planner which gives you plenty of time to specify what your expectations are.  What you have to keep in mind is these wedding planners are contacting and making wedding arrangements everyday.

THEY ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

Without knowing whether you will be married prior to heading to Mexico, your budget, number of guests attending, etc. – difficult to make recommendations

a)  If within budget - Bride, groom; parents & wedding party should stay in Privilege rooms

B)  Use photographers who work at the resort.  We only hired photographers for pics as guests arrived and during the ceremony.  Took our own photos during reception.

c)  Get married in front of Bldg. #1 – most private of all sites available and very close to Privilege rooms as well as swim up pool/bar where majority of adults staying at the resort use.  Privilege rooms also have their own private pool which offers peace and quiet when preferred.

d)  Unfortunately; I forget the name of person who married Kirsten & Chris; but she was AWESOME!  I want to say name was Adina; but canâ€t be sure.

e)  Have 3 songs on ipod for ceremony – 1 playing as guests arrive, 1 as parents and wedding party walk up the aisle and YOUR wedding song as you walk up the aisle.

g)  We hired a 4 pc. Mariachi band to play for 45 min. following ceremony on beach while guests enjoyed drinks & hâ€ordeaurves

h)  Reception followed an hour later on Terrace outside of Wedding office is really nice.

i)   Hire DJ to play your own music choices brought with you on ipod

Most importantly.......Your guests will find there way around the resort, do what they want to do – do not feel obligated to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves.  You are not responsible for anyone elseâ€s happiness, but your own.

RELAX and know – This will be YOUR day!!

I hope this helps!

Hi

I am very surprised at the comments about slow response, I emailed Claudia at Ocean Turquesa this morning and already received a response, last time it took 2 days.

I am very confident with them, although the photographer website does not list any prices, only packages and that bugs me.

Best of luck

Pierre
