Hi all,

I know that there are a few 2013 cruise brides on this board but wanted to see if there are any for 2014!

I am in the beginning stages of planning my Feb 2014 cruise wedding and thought it would be good to see who else is planning and how we can share our process along the way.

Happy Tuesday!

Hello,

April 6, 2014 Bride here!  We are getting married on the Carnival Breeze.  Which ship are you on?  I have also just started planning and reading the documents.  These forums and Pinterest have been great resources for me so far.

Hi there! How exciting and I am so glad there is at least one other 2014 bride on here!

My fiance and I are actually leaving on a cruise on 2/2 to check everything out and finalize everything. We will then have to come back and get things going.

We are also going back and forth between Carnival and Royal.

Needless to say, once we come back we will have to finalize all of our details!

I agree with you that these forums and Pinterst have been a really big help.

How many people are you expecting for your wedding?  Are you getting married in port on on the ship? Are you doing any DIY?

Hope you are having a great day!

Enjoy your 2/2 cruise!

I was undecided about Carnival or Royal Caribbean as well until I read the wedding package prices!  I've been on both cruise lines and I had a better time on Carnival, and I felt that my guests would have more fun with them.

We are probably going to hover between 20 and 40, but that's the part of a destination wedding that's bugging us now- how many people will REALLY show up.  Our guest list has more people, but maybe after we send the save the dates, we will get a more realistic number.

We are getting married on the ship in Miami.  I love the beach as a background, but I don't want to try to look glamorous while dragging my dress through the sand.

I'm not a DIY bride which is why a cruise wedding is perfect.  I will personalize it with our favors, a cake topper, and providing decorations for the cake table and reception table. (I think the brides passes decorations off to the WC the night before or the day of.)   That's about it.

How many are you expecting?  What DIY projects do you have in mind?

Having a hard time planning a destination wedding. We plan to have around 40 guest, but we dont want people to come and not go on the cruise with us because that will be the best part.

Hello there! I am also a 2014 bride! I am so undecided now as to what to do. I have read over everything and it seems that carnival is much more cost efficient, I have also called Royal numerous times, trying to find out where I can see pictures of their shore-side weddings, or at least know where they are so I can do my research, no one seems to have any answers and they act like they have no idea what they are saying, so that is a huge turn off with them. I see that some even plan their weddings with an outside planner on one of the islands, do you think this is most cost efficient? and a better idea? Any ideas would be great lol Also I have been seeing some brides on here, hiring their own photographer, but I see carnival says: NO photographers. I am so indecisive! I am already a little overwhelmed, haha! Glad I found this board though!

Congrats, Nicole!

We would prefer for people to cruise with us as well, but we understand that some people will have issues taking a week off of work.  I'm glad that RC will let you have a wedding on the beach with guests.  Carnival told me that only the bride and groom could go if I did that in Miami.  We can recreate it at the beaches on the ports in our swimsuits! LOL  cheesy.gif

Why are you having a hard time planning?  I'm reading a great book called Bridal Bargains by Denise and Alan Fields that is helping a lot.  I got it from my local library, but I may buy it because I don't want to give it up.  It doesn't focus on dw, but it provides tips and tricks and sources of vendors for clothing, accessories, flowers, invitations, etc.

awww yay! Congrats!! I have been looking for so long, I am so indecisive what cruise line to book, but I did find an amazing lady through here, named Janelle that is from island bliss weddings on St. Thomas. She is absolutely wonderful and much cheaper to plan a wedding off the cruise ship with an outsider it seems than on it. The bad reviews from the cruise line wedding planners scare me, as I have the worst luck lol

Congrats to you, too! I did a search for wedding prices on Carnival and RCCL websites and found pdfs with all prices. I think this cruise wedding is very economical compared to any land wedding besides justice of the peace. My coordinator just contacted me and she has been great so far. Very prompt and informative.
