any 2014 grand palladium jamaica brides about yet?

Hi Everyone! My name is Dasha and we have our wedding booked for May 6th at 2pm at GPLH! We will have about 25 guests coming and we're contemplating whether we should have a private reception or not. We want to have the first dance and speeches at some point, so thats why we would like the private reception otherwise I'm not sure where these would take place. Unless we just have a cocktail reception ( is that private as well, does anyone know?).

 

Also we have the Palladium Sapphire package booked for the ceremony and I was wondering if anyone knows what type of flowers/ decorations, bouquet and boutonniere come with it? What are my colour options?

 

Final question, the resort DJ seems to be way overpriced, does anyone know of a good outside DJ that is more reasonably priced?

We are having approx. 90 ppl attend and were told the only way to have our group all together for dinner was to pay for the use of the blue lagoon and the min per person is $45.

Hello Ladies,

 

I was just wondering if anyone else was having their wedding in February? My fiance and I will be there from Jan. 31 to Feb. 14th and will have our wedding on Feb 8th at 2pm.

We initially wanted to 4pm time slot but it has already been booked. We have approx. 90 attending are having out private dinner at the Blue Lagoon.

If anyone has any tips of additional information that would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, me! We are getting married May 15, 2014 at the Lady Hamilton! Congrats to you all and the soon to be hubby's!!! Would love to hear more about your planning. I am kind of freaking out a little about the photographer. We are not huge fans of the resort photographer and are eager to hear who you ladies are going with. Happy planning to all!

I sent emails to the resort and didn't hear back for some time so I decided to call and within a couple days of calling and speaking to a coordinator we had our date and time reserved. Try going that route if you don't hear back soon. Happy planning!

I'm hoping to be!  Just sent an email to them this morning to try to reserve a date.  I wonder how long it will take to get a resonse back from them....

Hello Ladies,

 

Yes we are getting married at GPLH 3rd June 2014. Were from England and flying out 26th May for 2 weeks - there are 20 of us flying out. 

 

I emailed the wedding coordinator for the for the first time about 3 days ago, but obviously am expecting to wait for the response from what I have heard about being relaxed about timing! Something I will have to get used to I think!

 

I am wanting to put together a travel/thank you bag for everyone and am just starting now to think about what little extras I want to bring for the reception dinner.

 

I would love to hear from other brides getting married around the same time.

Hi Yvonne, Im from the UK too (The Isle of Wight!) and flying out 26th May - getting married 3rd June - so not long after you! How is everything going? Who did you book your holiday/wedding through? Woud be really nice to hear from you, feel a bit stranded with not much info at the moment!

it took thomson ages to send our pack and confirm date (we have had loads of probs with them) when it comes its very basic just full of tips really the get the extras list direct from the hotel their email address is in the pack and just to warn you it takes the hotel ages to reply to emails i was told this before i emailed them so was prepared apparently its because they are so busy with the weddings they have there they catch up with emails when they can.

you get assigned a wedding co ordinator 2 months prior to the wedding to start arrangements and untill then its hard to really sort anything with them you kind of just have to wait

Hello, thank you for posting all of your info! We are getting married at GPLH 3rd June 2014 through Thomsons and have had the same experience as you it sounds like! What package have you gone for? We have gone for the Sapphire but might upgrade to Pearl depending on how much a photographer is!! How have you found the whole process so far? We were also thinking we were not going to book a private reception, just in terms of cost but so far am waiting for a reply to my email -  am also prepared to wait a while for this!!
