I am getting married in November at Riu Palace in Cabo. Does anybody know if they are flexible at all with their ceremony times? I booked a 2pm ceremony but feel that this may be a bit too early as our reception will be around 630pm. A 3pm ceremony would be perfect for us! Thanks :)

not at all! I was originally told I could have a 4pm start time and now I have to start at 2pm. The only way I could get a 4pm start time would be if I moved my wedding to Monday :(

I was able to change my time from 6:00 PM to 5:30 PM after reading another bride's post about how her dinner started very late when they had their ceremony at 6:00 PM... I think they were okay with this because there are no other weddings on this day, it is low season late July. They just had to check wit the minister. Are there other weddings on your date shayt2412? At least you will not be rushed at all and can have lots of time to take photos before the reception, have some champagne and relax a bit :) I'll be pretty rushed to ensure my guests don't have a really late dinner!

I think I have officially decided to use the Baja Norte location for our reception, I really want to be able to hang lanterns and I believe this is the only location you can do so. Also, if you pay for this private location you can have the rehearsal dinner semi private at one of the restaurants instead.

Just a tip if you want chair ties in different colours than what the Riu offers on the spreadsheet checklist: I asked Jatziri if they had any other colours other than the few listed, and they do! Free of charge. Not sure why they don't just list these other colours.

Is anyone else getting married directly on the beach? I have no idea what to wear for shoes! Any ideas ladies?

Also, is anyone else doing something special for a welcome dinner? I am trying to decide if I want to drop a couple grand on a sunset booze cruise. I have been quoted pretty high rates online from the various cruise companies.

While looking more closely through the wedding checklist I found this great link with additional photos of the reception sites and photos of cake, arch, etc..

For those of you having a beach wedding, are you using the Riu arch (as seen in the link above) or are you going to have the florist set up an arch for you for an extra charge? Alina the florist does a fabulous job of the arches, ranging in price from 350 - 600. It looks like it will cost around 400 for me as I plan to order the arch with white fabric and flow arrangements for 350, then bring my own beaded or flower curtain to add to it for an extra setup fee. I think it is worth it!!

Hello All,

I am getting married at the Riu this year as well and I have not heard back from a wedding coordinator. My wedding is less than two months away and I do not know how to go about setting up my hair appointment at Suzanne Morel or how to obtain a photographer. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced and good photographer? I have been reading a lot about receptions being held in terraces or outside however, has anyone had a reception indoors i.e. ballroom. I am not sure which route to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you All and Congratulations!
