I saw this really cute idea on marthastewart where the couple had a destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico and had guests put advice to the couple inside a pinata, which the couple will break open in 5 years. we had been plannong on doing something similar with guests putting messages to us in a bottle for 1yr/5yr/10yr advice -- but now this pinata idea is sort of intriguing. does anyone know whether you can find *cute* pinatas easily in cancun area? i can't imagine carrying one down there....

I would be very nervous if I'm not prepared to go there with all my stuffs.  I'm not sure if I want to go and risk in finding the things I need over there.

I love that idea. Can you call the resort and ask them if they know of any local places? I think there is a party supply store in Cancun. We actually had a pinata at my shower... and a sombrero with a veil. It is a cute touch!

I saw that too and had one made here in LA to bring to Cabo. Does anyone have cute ideas for paper to use to put in it?
