When have other people heard from their on site coordinators? I have 20 days till my wedding and still haven't heard from our on site coordinator. My off site coordinator, Brenda, only responds to my emails about once a week and never answers all the question and requests I have. I'm getting nervous and frustrated about the whole thing.

Hi, I just had my wedding there 3 weeks ago. I got a on-site coordinator about 30 days before (Joseline) who did not contact me at all until two weeks before the wedding and 1.5 weeks before I left to go to Moon Palace. I sent her a couple of emails and one rather formal "would you please give me the courtesy of a response" email which seemed to have worked. I finally got a response. Once at the resort it was great but it's definitely stressful getting responses from the on site coordinators beforehand.

@@MBK, let me know if you still need photos of the Grand Terrace and I'd be happy to send some over!

Thanks for the reply! Here is the thing though, we are getting married after sundown (ceremony begins at 5 and reception at 5:30), therefore I'm afraid that the beautiful view from the Caribbean terrace will not show. Can anyone advise on this?

Thanks!

If anyone is contemplating having their wedding at a Palace Resort i urge you to run the other way! Less than 30 days to go to our wedding and the off-site coordinators have been non existent. Instead of making the planning process a smooth one they have made it a struggle. I am a very patient and laid back person so for me to say this is a big deal. I hope when we arrive to the resort our wedding goes seamlessly and my mind is changed. until then i do not recommend having your wedding at this resort or any Palace resort if you would like some sort of peace of mind during the months leading up to it.

Hello! So after doing some thinking and speaking with Brenda, our offsite planner (I call het when I need an immediate answer as emails take a long time sometimes), we have decided to stick with the Caribbean terrace but move everything to an hour earlier. This way we'll have some beautiful photos in the light and will have a view even if it's only for an hour.

Also, for those that are thinking to decorate the pool at the grand terrace, Brenda informed me that it is possible as the pool closes to the public at 6pm. However, she stated, that the decorations will likely not be very noticeable as the pool is not immediately next to the tables or dance floor.

@@smilenstacy and @@LydiaButterfly could you please email me your photos. I'd love to see how everything turned out! @@shan0487 we are having our ceremony on the vena do terrace. Can I see your photos from the rehearsal dinner?

By the way- is Moon still using Latin Asia for flowers? Is there anyone else?

@@shan0487 @@LydiaButterfly @smilenstacy   -  we are thinking of having our reception at the terrace on Moon Grand Pool.  Do you think there is enough lighting there or should we rent the hanging lights?   If so, how many should be enough?   Also should we do wrap around lights for the palm trees or do those have plenty of lighting?

Not sure if we should do cocktail at Tucan garden and reception at Grand Pool Terrace.  Do you think they are too far away from one another??    any other suggestions for cocktail hour?

we thought about just doing Tucan garden and tucan terrace for reception, but afraid if we have large turnout wont be big enough

Just, like the idea of the pool area being little more quite and private after 6 pm..

Also @@shan0487 - for your blumebox centerpieces did you decorate them prior to arriving to the resort or once you arrived?

we are probably using them and not sure when to decorate them...

@@MBK, here are some photos of the Grand Terrace along with the Venado Terrace. I had my cocktail reception there and it's a really nice area right next to the beach with a beautiful view! I would've totally had my dinner reception there if our group wasn't so big.

@misbosox

How many people are you expecting at your wedding? I had my wedding ceremony at the Tucan gazebo, cocktail reception at the Venado terrace, and dinner reception at Grand terrace. The Tucan and Moon Grand terraces aren't that far apart, I would say a 5-7 min walk, and Venado terrace is in between. You can see the Venado terrace from the Tucan terrace along the beach.

I had my dinner reception at the Grand terrace b/c it was the only outdoor venue that would accommodate a group our size. We had a little over 70 guests. The venue's really nice, but since it's not right along the beach and there's a bunch of palm trees blocking the ocean breeze, it got REALLY hot, even though it was nice and cool with the ocean breeze at the Venado terrace where we had the cocktail reception. BUT, the ocean side terraces can get really windy at night, so if you plan on having any tall centerpieces or light weight decorations, they might get blown over.

Also, events at Tucan/Venado terraces have to end by 10 pm, whereas Grand terrace events don't have to end until 11pm. This might not matter if you're having your wedding in the winter when the sun sets earlier, but since ours was at the end of June, it made a difference for us.

As for lighting, some of the palm trees at the Grand Terrace already have string lights wrapped around the trunks, but you would definitely need additional lighting. We rented two strings of hanging lanterns and criss crossed them across the middle of the dance floor and that worked out really well. We also had about 10 uplights shining at the palm trees for mood lighting. And we had a bunch of votive candles at each table and some other LED lights for decoration.

Here are some photos of the Grand & Venado Terraces to give you better idea of layout, https://www.flickr.com/gp/smilenstacy/vqg656/.

Hope this helps!  :)

I decorated the blumeboxes before we left for Mexico.  I wasn't about to bring a hot glue gun with me to Mexico ;)
