Yay! I do know that you now have to pay per hour per table to extend your reception longer than 2 hours (they did not limit the hours of the "unlimited events" in 2012 so I didn't have to pay for my reception from 6-10). 

 

Good luck on getting the 75 room nights- shouldn't be too hard if you have at least 30 people staying 5 nights! We had over 100 room nights!

Oh that would be amazing! We were trying to work out our budget, and I thought we'd have to pay extra for any people over 30 people We are aiming for the 75+ room nights

Hello ladies, my wedding is at the Beach Palace but the Moon Palace thread is a bit more active! I'm currently looking into my photographer and videographer and I am really dreading paying the $800 vendor fee. 

 

It seems like Del Sol has a good relationship with them and just require day passes; is this the case with any other photographers as well?

 

Wondering if anyone has had any recent luck in not telling their WC and just obtaining day passes for them? I figure worse the hotel could do is just slap on the vendor fee last minute. Good idea/bad idea? Thanks!

The Chapel it's beautiful, take at the wedding of Jesse and Breanna that took place at Moon Palace, was so magical and special.

Yikes! I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience. It's great that you're able to keep such a positive attitude about it still being a wonderful week with family and friends though! As a future MP bride, I'm just curious - do you think it would be worth it to pay the $800 outside vendor fee for a different DJ? The reception/party aspect is pretty important to me so it definitely makes me nervous to hear this about JSAV (along with some other questionable reviews on here...). Thanks so much for your review!

Geez is it $800 now? Based on the fact that he couldn't even work with an ipod that all of the songs were already in order and all he had to do was press play, unfortunately I'd say yes. I'm in the wedding business back home, and the two things that I have always found that make or break your day are the music and the photo/video (so that your memories are great). The only other thing I might say to save money is if you had a reliable friend who could make the introductions, then just hire JSAV to rent the equipment and do your whole ipod playlist like we did. Or, express that fee to the outside vendor that you're considering and see if they can bring their price down a bit to help compensate. But, honestly, I was trying to be extremely budget savvy, and I wish that I had spent a bit more to make it closer to my "dream wedding" instead of my "budget wedding".  Best of luck to you!

I completely agree that photos and music are very important! I'm on a budget but those are definitely the two areas I've allocated the most amount of money to Especially considering how much JSAV charges, that is insane. That is a good idea about telling other vendors about the outside vendor cost to see if they can bring it down just a little... Thank you so much for your information, this has been very helpful!

@@mrscollins - Wow I just read your review and I was growing furious on your behalf!! That's ridiculous how terrible Emy was. I do hope Moon Palace compensated you. And i do hope that you look fondly back on your wedding day more than at all the mishaps

 

My wedding is at Beach Palace, not Moon Palace, but they have the same vendors so I am very grateful for all the tips!!

 

I am outsourcing my makeup for sure. Your experience sounds awful, and I don't want to risk that

 

For Gallardo, can I ask you if Moon Palace said you could just pay the day passes for them vs. the $800 vendor fee? This is the one big thing that is making me hesitate. Did you tell them in advance, or did you just arrange the day passes yourself? We have been in contact with Gallardo, and he seems really nice so far and has been working with our budget!

 

We have been in contact with DJ Doremixx and PSAV. Will definitely not go with JSAV after that review. DJ Doremixx has such great prices and reviews, but once we tack on the vendor fee it makes it the same/slightly more than PSAV. Still debating this one

 

For florals, did Marvin deliver to the lobby? Did you get charged at all for this? We want to get our florals for centrepieces done outside, but I'm worried that he will need to set them up
