How to remind guests to book their room

Recommended Posts

Wow. With at least a year notice? Okay. I will be sure to have a deadline that you have to at least pay a deposit. That Is Soooo rude!

I'm going to a DW in a few months. Yesterday the bride told me that only 6 of the 40 people invited booked. Yikes! The deadline is in two weeks. Keep in mind we received STD over a year ago. I called a few of our friends to see what the hold up was. Listed below are their reasons 4 couples gave me: (1) RSVP'd but can't attend. Haven't told the couple yet (2) (2) Hate talking to people on the phone so dreading the call to the TA (1) (3) Never intended on going. Haven't told the couple (1) I'll be keeping these excuses in mind while waiting on people to book. Personally, I'd rather you tell me you aren't coming so that I can move on.

Hi Itsjuliez, Any wedding coordinator can work with you on an approximate guest count to give you and idea on pricing. Once you have your final numbers, then you can inform them as to how many people will actually attend your wedding and adjust from there. In our experience, you can expect a 30-40% guest attendance (based on your number of invites) on average. This number can fluctuate based on how far in advance you give your guests notice! Don't let a final guest count stop you from beginning the planning :) Happy Planning!
Good to know.

it is definitely annoying when people wait on the last minute. i've heard other say " i don't know yet. it depends on our savings/budget". i mean, not to be a bitch but if you REALLY have the intention of going shouldn't you start saving for it? that's precisely why we're telling you a year in advance! Zeman I totally agree out of the 39 people that have booked, from my mom side only my mom and her bf are coming all my uncles and aunt cousins said " we just don't have the money " . I understand that I didn't pick the cheapest resort however if someone really wanted to go you can save lots of money in the 1 year notice I gave everyone! And then u have the guests who think they can find a better deal on their own and want to book last minute grrrr lol Atleast after 30 booked my FI and I got 2 free trips quite the unexpected bonus!

Hi all,

The more I read about RSVP's the more I get worried. I plan on making OOT bags and I promise, I will only make the number needed by the RSVP date, if anyone books after that, those will not have an OOT bag, that way they will remember next time to be prompt and responsible, and I will make sure when I distribute the bags in front of everyone to say that I only got enough for the people that RSVP'd by the due date since I didn't know if any other guest would be coming. I don't have any extra money laying around for rude's people extra bags. SMH

We're just getting ready to send out save the dates....I'm already getting worried about RSVP's and don't even have the invites yet! LOL I really am not going to stress over it. Actually hoping to only have about 25 at the wedding because that's what the package includes and I am turning into a cheapass! I only want close family and a few close friends....that's why we decided on  a DW to begin with, but didn't want to hurt feelings not inviting people. I am hoping a lot of them can't come! My Bad!

Haha i'm the same. I'm kinda hoping there won't be too many guests so it will be a lot cheaper. Especially we are planning on doing an island tour for our guests as a thank you. What are your thoughts about guests staying outside the resort? Are we supposed to pay for their day pass? Sandals told me we have to pay $190 for a full day pass for non resort guests attending our wedding. That's ridiculous!
