I just got engaged and we are planning for a July 2014 wedding too.  We need our venue soooo please help!!!!

Criteria:  All-inclusive and try to keep the cost lower for our guest

Welcome and congratulations!

You are definitely in the right place! You will find soo much information about anything you can think of. Picking a resort will be one of the hardest decisions, at least it was for me. There are so many options it just depends on what you are really looking for. I wanted an all inclusive, family friendly resort that had beautiful crystal blue water. Something that wouldn't be expensive for my guests. After looking thru tons and tons of pictures and reading reviews on here FI and I decided on Barcelo Maya Palace in Riviera Maya.

Good luck in your planning!

I'm getting married July 21st at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso Resort. Can't wait. 6 months and counting!  It's adults only and gorgeous. We wanted kid-friendly but then realized that most of our friends want to make a mini vacation out of it and it gives them a chance to have some adult time. So far we've sent out Save The Dates, hired the photographer and the DJ and are slowly planning a Welcome Dinner and an excursion for our guests. My bridesmaids and I are going to look for their dresses this weekend. Still debating on the color scheme. The next few months will be DIY projects for Welcome Bags, Favors, Programs etc.. Getting so excited!!

Congratulations to you too! We decided after reviewing multiple photographers to go with an outside vendor and deal with the fee that comes along with it. Claudia Photo Studio is who we chose. She did my friends wedding in Cancun 5 years ago and I loved her. It was a complete shock when I realized she was the same photographer after I booked her! We booked Videography through her too. She responds quickly and is priced fairly when you compare the hotels photographer and all the inclusions we would  have had to add to their package. The DJ we chose is Dulce at Big Bang Productions. She seems great! Easy to talk to over email and the price is great. The company also offer lots of other options (Fire Show, Cigar Roller, Guitarist etc..) so it'll be nice to go through one company if we do any extras. I'm currently working with our Travel Agent on the excursion. We would love to rent a private catamaran to take everyone around on for a few hours around sunset. Cocktails and some fun to thank them for coming. We are waiting on pricing to see if it's doable. I've been to Mexico a dozen times and although I like the adventure parks and mayan ruins, we feel like our guests would be more interested in something a bit more relaxing to end the trip.

*luggage tags for my guests that booked

*ribbon wands for the ceremony

*bought my centerpieces, fabric for runners, cloth napkins

*started buying gifts for my bridesmaids

*booked photographer and make up/hair

*invites are going out at the end of this month

*purchased guest book and frame

*purchased straws and created eat drink and be married flags

*purchased starfish for escort cards

I feel like I have a lot more to do including going bridesmaid dress shopping .. Can't believe how fast time flew. Can't wait to start counting down the days!!!

Wow. I don't feel like I've done anything yet except for fill my computer with pages and pages of ideas. We got engaged August 31st so we haven't had as much time to plan the small stuff yet. I haven't ordered anything yet or started any projects. We sent the Save the Dates in November. I feel like I can't do the Escort cards until I know who all is coming and we won't be sending our invites out until April but I know I want to do the starfish too! Our room block deadline is next month so we'll have a better idea of who is attending then before we send out the invites. We assume some guests will book on their own and at a later date if they decide they can come. I'm such a planner, it surprises me how calm I am although I'm sure come April and May, I am going to start going crazy with projects!
