presently im doing "INSANITY" and let me tell you those exercises are REALLLLY insane! im already 5 weeks in and im seeing some results! the hardest thing though is the willpower to press that play button for 6 days a week omg that can be really tough sometimes,,  especially after a long day @ work and coming home to prepare dinner for my fiance and our 2 kids, but its worth it though!!!   :D

anyone care to share?? tips, experience, motivations?

We started with a personal trainer in Sept, once a week.Which is a nice way to spend time together. He makes us do cardio 3x a week and weights 2x. I'm also a yoga teacher so that helps and I've been doing pilates since November...loving that part. Since the start of december I've been making a smoothie everyday for breakfast....I've noticed a significant difference over the last month especially with my arms :D Although I HATE cardio I keep picturing myself in my dress as I cannot gain ANY weight and with the holidays approaching it's gotta be done.

Definately is alllll worth it!

Ladies- I started ChaLean Extreme from Beachbody. I highly, highly recommend it. Here are a few reasons:

1. You can start at any level. Everyone is at different stages. You may be able to do curls with 5 pounds or 20 pounds, you can start comfortably at your starting point and work up. You need to already be pretty strong to start Insanity or P90X.

2. Chalene motivates! She says the right thing at the right time. She makes you laugh..and even wanna cry sometimes when she makes you feel so good about what you just accomplished! She is a woman just like you and me, a mother, a friend. She is passionate and not fake.

3. It comes with a great meal plan and recipes to follow to fuel your body and put on muscle rather than just loose water weight

4. Its so much easier than going to the gym! Push play at home!

5.THE BIGGEST REASON:  it's more geared towards a womans body.  P90X does a lot of pull ups where as Chalean does a lot of squats. Girls- we need our squats for these bikinis we have to be in on the beach. She targets the muscle groups we girls want to tone up througout every exercise and disc and she tells you WHY you need to be doing this.

6. Rather than exhaust yourself with a milion reps of heavy swinging weights which doesnt work or hours on the treadmill, she teaches you to lift heavy and slow and put on muscle to torch away the fat. Do you wanna just loose "weight" or do you want the body that will turn heads? ChaLean!!!

Icant stress enough the only TRUE way to do it properly is keep an eagle eye on your nutrition. If anyone wants help or coahing for free pm me and i would love to help anywhere i can. I have not tried it, though I have heard from a friend of mine who dappled with it, and overall the experience was pretty negative. She did lose weight for a while, but then all of a sudden, and for no apparent reason, piled it all back on... and more. She was doing everything the same. Maybe someone else has tried it themselves; like I said, that is just what a girlfriend of mine said.

Basically, any kind of diet like that makes me nervous. I go by the idea that if it is fuel for my body, it is good and I should eat it. Otherwise, I see it as a toxin.

I was working out regularly, but my gym pass expired and we are going away for a couple weeks over the holidays; no sense renewing it yet. But then, right back to it! Hopefully I do not indulge too many "toxins" over the holidays. :(

1 )Eat clean. and drink plenty of water.  I don't recommend crash diets, fasting or anything along those lines unless your just looking for fast results with no long term benefit.  More often than not, a person will gain all this weight back once they stop.

2)  Dont' be afraid of weight/resistance training - it will tone you up and has a longer impact on your metabolism than cardio alone. You will not bulk up and look manly unless you are specifically trying to do so. Our bodies are different then mens, and we don't gain muscle at the same rate.

3) Add variety to your exercise regimen; you want to keep your body and muscles challenged so you continue to see results. I've completed Insanity and had a love/hate realationship with the DVD series, and plan on doing all 10 weeks again 12 weeks out from the wedding. I hate doing cardio but love I love spin classes and hiking.  Most of my time in the gym is in weight training. I also occaionlly do pilates.

4) Don't become consumed with the scale and pay more attention to how your clothing fits and the the change in your body compostion/measurments.  The scale doesn't take into consideration the % of body fat lost in comparison to lean muscle gained or water weight.

5) Try to keep it fun!
