Thank you!! No, it's ivory but in a "romantic satin" so it has that sheen texture. I was going to stay away from satin, but this material is actually quite light.

I'm having two dresses for my DW! The first is a dress I've been drooling over since before I even met my FI...they no longer make it, so I'm having it made for me by a designer where I live...lucky for me, its costing less that half of what it would have cost if i bought the original, best of all, I can have her made is the most beautiful blush pink silk I've ever seen! Here she is: And this is my second dress...I will be wearing this one to the after party, as well as for our TTD shoot the next day! Both of them are being custom made and will ring in at less than $1500 for both including alterations! WOOT!

Oh my word. The back on that is a stunner. I love it!

I just picked up my dress & have no one to share it with because they might mention it in front of my fiance! Love this forum! It needs some fitting around the top where it is to big, but I love it. Now I need to decide what to do with my hair. Up, down, side pony, veil/ flower?? No idea - time to move to the hair forum....But I do love the dress! Can't wait until it's tailored & we are on the beach with professional photos!

Thank-you!   Honestly I don't think this was the "norm" at all.  I'm a full year ahead of the game because I assumed I'd have to order it, get the alterations, etc etc, so I gave myself so much time.  I seriously hit the jackpot because I had previously fallen in love with a dress that I did NOT look at the pricetag before I tried on (have I learned nothing from say yes to the dress?!?) and was stuck on a dress that was $2000 (over budget for sure)!  After trying on another six dresses and feeling a little crestfallen, she comes out with this and says it's $815!  I was like" oh yeah this dress is going to be "nice" lol.  She started doing me up and I could NOT believe it!! I even asked if she was sure it was the right price!!  She was such a sweet woman, she told me it was MY dress and if I wanted to take it home that day she'd give me another 15% off.  Incredible, I can't believe what I paid for it! Needless to say, if there are any Edmonton brides in the house, go check out Ethos Bridal, they are incredible!  

I'm glad I saw this post! I'm in Edmonton too and im going to start dress shopping. Ethos bridal it is!! Your dress is gorgeous.

Ladies... I am super excited to announce I finally found my wedding dress!! :cheer2: Hopefully my fiance wont get on here for a sneak peak. ( But I am too excited to not share you all of you!! ) I am going to have the flower removed from the top of the dress and make it into a clip for my hair. ) Sorry for the blurriness.

Okay, so I went shopping for the first time yesterday... brought people with me. There are only two shops here in town, the first one we found some nice things, but they were, well, nice. Good. Not fall off my chair good or anything though. Not great service though too. The next place I had some luck. I actually found 2 dresses I really liked. I was grinning like an idiot in both of them, but absolutely "cooing" in one of them... the more expensive of course. Of course, it is different than what I would have picked. It was a clearance dress (the cooing one), so the last one... no ordering in. We put a hold on it for a week. It was more than $900... the 2nd runner up was a little over $400. So now I am wondering. I love the dress... but I was wanting some opinions. Maybe to reconfirm the one I love? Get a general opinion? So I am going to post both here, not saying which is which. Would LOVE opinions, ladies! Okay, so you cannot see it great in this cell-phone picture, but the first one has a little sparkle... the second one is slightly more flowy, but I think both have a little structure, but are still good for the beach. (FI requested, "no curtains".) Thoughts?

Dazeydawl - I hear ya about being anxious!  I ordered my dress in January and it should be here ANY DAY now....I cannot wait either!!!!!!
