Royal Playa Del Carmen 2014

Hello to all the Royal brides! Congrats on your upcoming weddings! :) This post is for any brides interested in affordable decor for your big day.

I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices. I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames, table runners, rustic birdcages, string lighting and even a portable sound system.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings.

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa Del Carmen for two years and know the area quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of some items we used in our wedding and that are for rent:

Hello!

I am new to this site. I wanted to know if anyone knows if the band allowed at the resort is good. Does anyone have any band suggestions for a wedding at the Royal Playa Del Carmen next December 2014. Thank you!

Brides-

I recently got married in Cabo, and Honeymooned in Playa del Carmen at The Royal Mid November 2013. Just a few words of advice when planning to wed here. My husband and I watched 3 weddings take place while we were there. The beach is VERY crowded ALL THE TIME. Even if you have the spaced reserved for your wedding, there will always be people around in their swimsuits watching. Also in regards to the beach, I have been to Playa del Carmen 3 times and I LOVE IT THERE, BUT the beach at the Royal even thou it's beautiful, it smells like sulfur all the time. It's right next to a very large dock that to be honest is very ugly! The entertainment and pool staff are awesome and very attentive, but the front desk and hospitality staff are not! When we arrived to check in (after check in time) we waited almost 2 hours to get a room and after we did.. it was the wrong room and even had a custom letter to another couple in it! After switching us rooms 3 times they finally got it right. But that ruined it for me for a few days. I payed close attention to the wedding consult rooms while we were there and everything is very cookie cutter and "packaged" if that makes sense. I would steel away from this resort for a wedding just based on all of those things. PDC is SO BEAUTIFUL and a wonderful place to get married , I would just choose a better location based on my experience there.
