Newbie with Big dreams of Italy! HELP!

Hi everyone !

First this place is AWESOME and I've been stalking it for the last few hours!

Second I've been engaged for less than a month and already wake up almost everyday with anxiety... and I'd really like to enjoy my engagement Vs want to crawl in a hole and hide from the task of wedding planning.

That being said a main source of my anxiety is the fact that we want to get married in Italy in 2014. My fiance and I both live in the U.S. and feel COMPLETELY LOST in trying to plan anything from here. I just feel like I HAVE NO CLUE WHO TO TRUST, and being a Virgo and VERY type A this is killing me... because in my head it's perfect and trying to find someone who sees things the same way I do is daunting.

We also have some special considerations for family members i.e. need to be close to Dialysis Centers in Italy so that they may continue treatments while on vacation and attending our wedding.

Anyone else have an Italian wedding? Use a specific Wedding planner? Advice (besides de-stressing)?

OK thanks so much for listening to my rant, and ANY & ALL advice is welcome

Hi and THANK YOU BOTH!

We both love Rome, and the Amalfi Coast is to die for, but also looking at Florence and really how can you beat the beautiful views in Tuscany? Haha So basically anywhere and everywhere is being taken into consideration.  Really we just need to be close enough to a major city that transportation to and from dialysis treatments is feasible, but if we had to choose: Rome.

@playalovesme: Oh those pictures are great, leaves me feeling like Italy is the right choice for us!

Hi,

I'm going to get married in Italy too! cheers.gif

I contacted an Italian wedding planner (a friend of mine recommended her, that got married in italy last year and she was thrilled with the Damawedding team. She told me how helpful, careful and professional they are)

At first I was pretty sure I could plan the wedding by myself. But after speaking with her I completely changed my mind.

Laura showed us stunning venues and gave great advice about how to start organizing our wedding. As a non Italian who knows nothing about the language, the country and suppliers, organizing a wedding in Italy is a daunting task.... But Danila has incredible knowledge about everything, and I think this way I'll actually enjoy the planning - it will be stress-free!!! Moreover she's a reliable professional, she showed venues and hotels and discussed vendors, so that only after everything was clear we signed the contract. No surprises!
Also compared to other planners, DAMA wedding's prices are absolutely reasonable.  I suggest that you contact damawedding.it, Iâ€m sure they can recommend a wide choice of venues, suppliers and provide helpful advice.  I'm so excited! Really looking forward to planning my special day... Chat soon, K
