Tipping the resort WC and bar/waitstaff...pesos or USD??
I feel like this is such a great question. I don't intend to get any money "exchanged" into pesos so i am more than likely tipping in US dollars. That being said, I feel like it is important to think about the fact that if I wanted to tip the WC the equivelant of about $50, I actually need to give way less considering how far the USD goes in their country. I don't know... Maybe I'll look up the conversion and tip accordingly but still in USD. Did I confuse you... Lol!

So I can't believe I didn't think of this before- one of my very good friends is Mexican and has only lived in the US about 6 years. I will ask her and see what she says and get back to you with some info :)

Thanks! I don't really want to exchange any money for pesos either so was hoping that the right answer would be that American money is cool. Someone answered in another thread that I also posted in that US dollars are worth more then pesos down there but sometimes can be hard for workers to exchange...that being said, I'm still leaning toward dollars

My friend said just tip in USD. My fiancé says "if you want to tip the value of about 50 then give 50!" Lol.. Men. Always such a simple and obvious answer! My friend said if you want to tip the "value" of about 50 you could too about 30. I guess it's just really whatever you feel comfortable with or feel like you want to give. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! I guess I'll see how the service is when we get down there but it's good to know that 30 is about 50! We leave the house in exactly 12 hours from now...I'm 95% packed and heading out for drinks to start it off right!
