Wedding Dress Prices?

Recommended Posts

True!!! But shop around. I've recently found any associated with a bridal shop are WAY more money

That's true, when I was a bridesmaid they wanted to charge us like $120 just to hem the dress. We went to see a local seamstress and she only charged $50 per dress... it's totally worth shopping around

A hem at David's bridal was quoted to me around $130. My coworker got a hem, bustle, sash changed out and a repair for $120

Mhmm No matter what it is when they know it has something to do with a wedding they jack the price up so much it's ridiculous.

I had a budget of 2K, I found a dress for 1895 and bought the sample for 50% off as it fit almost perfectly, now my dress lives at the bridal shop for the next year until I actually need it! Finding a deal is super possible I just went to a few different local bridal shops and everyone offered sale prices.

that's exactly why I took it home! I heard so many horror stories of stores going under and your dress is lost forever or things like that happening.  I guess my house could burn down too but it just feels safer when it's with me for some reason haha.

I think there is a part of us that feels we have more control. Not only did she almost lose her dress but heritage park told her they double booked and she had to change her location. Then someone broke into their truck. Wth! Poor girl.

wow! Yeah poor girl sounds about right. I know that some things always go wrong on the wedding day but I'm hoping for minor things. Your friend's sister had awful luck (or good luck in case of the dress not being burned). My mom told me that the lady who made her dress decided to dye her hair while they were doing the final fitting, a few days before the wedding, and she stained one of the sleeves with hair dye! I would be freaking out.
