Congratulations!! Love to read about happy clients of Janelle's, we are using them in May coming off the Glory.  Which photographer did you use?

Hi all!

How did you all decide what time of year you chose for your cruise wedding. My fiance and I have a good feeling about what ship/location but am struggling on what time of year. I am aware of hurricane season, spring break, etc but wanted to know what determined your date.

Thanks!

we did a cruise in early september because we wanted to enjoy the sun and pool on the boat our way down from MD to the bahamas.  If we had booked when it was colder, we would have been bored out of our mind.  we are sun lovers and our only days out of the sun were on the way down (because we left port at 4pm, and our way back).

The cheapest time of year for cruising is End of Sept-Dec. The cruise companies aslo tell you in their brochure when peak season is and how much extra you're gonna pay. They are pretty straight forward. Unfortunately I picked one of the most expensive times to get married as my daughter is in the Navy and had to work around her deployment schedule, but it is still cheaper than other venues.

We chose to do wedding in mid-late June because my fiancé, his mother, and brother-in-law all work for schools. Plus there are school age kids (nieces & nephew) that we want there. So we had to work around school schedules, so it had to be summer. Unfortunately, thats one of most expensive times to go. June should be okay, but any later gets closer to storm season. We shouldn't have hurricanes to deal with, but we have chance of rain & monsoon storms in June. One of our stops averages about 80% chance of rain on any given day at this time of year. But, most of those types of storms typically come and go quick (maybe an hour or two) and usually early morning or night, so I'm not too concerned. I plan to probably include umbrellas or ponchos in my OOT bags for guests just in case though.
