Mexico wedding in July

Recommended Posts

Hello Brides, I've been trying to search other threads about this but have not yet find any discussion. So I am narrowing down my location to the east coast of Mexico; Cancun or Riviera Maya. I'm planning the wedding date to be July 26, 2013. Since the time is around summer break, should I be worried about the kids crowd or the drunken teenagers? I've read from other brides that also worry about the weather whether or not it will be too hot. It was suggested to have the ceremony late in the evening like 6pm. Wouldn't it be too late? Also, is July one of the more expensive time of the year? I know I have a lot of questions here. If any of the brides here have experiences to share, please do! Thank you so much!

I have been to Cancun before and chose Riviera Maya for the wedding to avoid the party scene. If you go on the beach in Cancun it almost feels like you are on a "vegas strip". Although I haven't been to the riviera, from what I have seen and heard it is a lot more quite and secluded, but still close to Playa Del Carmen if you want to go out or into town.

July will be one of the hotter months, but can also have occasional rain. I would agree that a later wedding would be best to avoid the heat. My wedding is in March and we are having a 5:00pm wedding. I am kind of nervous about it getting dark ... but in July you will be completely fine with a later time!

I actually think that late winter, early spring is the most expensive time for Mexico due to the best weather (not as hot and little rain). The fall is hurricane season which is usually the cheapest and the summer isn't bad prices either.

Whatever you decide your wedding will be perfect :)

Thank you so much for your reply! The summer break just throws me off a bit. I hope it will not be too bad and not too many parties. I was in fact just came back from a riviera maya vacation at the Princess resort. . The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. It rained one day during our 5 day stay. It was during 3rd week of September, so it was quiet and not a lot of young crowds at all.

Thank you!  I feel more at ease with Riviera now.  I only have a choice of July and August since my brother is still in college.  What I've heard from other brides, summer is a bit less expensive than winter time.  But like you said, it's a bit more expensive than going during the school time. sad.gif

Hello Ornoxoxo,

As a wedding planner here in Riviera Maya,I must say we have many beautiful location and some of the location are very secluded, if you are worried about the crowd maybe considering a resort that is not too close to down or a secluded beach club could be your best option.  Since July is summer still, the best time to have your ceremony would be anything from 5:30 pm, its almost perfect weather for sure.

July is not an expensive month, in fact most of resort have discount and specials for the summer vacation.

Feel to ask me anything and I will be happy to help.

Happy planning

Joyce
