Well I am in the situation where my future father in law wants to know how much it will cost per person for literally a 4 day 3 night wedding celebration to decide how much he will give towards the wedding. I think it will be impossible to figure that out due to the fact that we have about 3 events taking place in a 4 day period! Then count in the music, flowers, decor, etc....anyone having these issues?

I think it is best to just give a set amount of what they can and cannot afford to give towards helping out....any opinionshuh.gif

Also, as a wedding guest I'm usually not wanting the bride & groom to spend a lot of money on me. I'd rather go & have a good time with them. i don't care how much they spent on me. I'd prefer to know they saved money to buy a home together, raise kids, or whatever. I'm not there to be showered with gifts or meals, etc.

I don't think spending money on people is the only way to show you care. We all want to show our guests we appreciate them flying out, but there are many other ways to do that.

Good comment Morgan! I second that!

AI's are great (in my opinion). I haven't read everyone else's replies yet, so I'll probably say what others have said but....

People will have to pay for their other meals. And just because you are at an AI doesn't mean that it inclues your reception, if you choose to have one. We are paying extra for ours. My mom actually thought that was a waste and that we shouldn't do one...but like I said in a previous post, we are asking people to spend a thousand dollars + to see us get married...the least we can do is give them a party too.

Some AI's include excursions. I know that the Palace Resorts in Mexico do. That means if guests say 3 or more nights, they can go places like Tulum at no extra cost! It's worth looking into. (We're getting married at a Palace Resort and have stayed at one before).

Good Luck!
