DIY Cake Toppers

UPDATE...

I receieved my letters and decided that I liked the English Vivace font best.  I'm off to a good start and anticipate this taking me 3 to 3.5 hours to complete due to my 7ss, 9ss and 12ss crystal sizes. And I'm happy I went the swarovskis because they sparkle like crazy. I'm in no rush to complete this, so I will probaby do 30 to 45 minute sessions a day until it's complete. And the tool that I would be lost without is my new wax tip pencil, it makes application a breeze, followed by an angled pair of tweezers.

YAY.. Your off to a great start!! ) I soo did not think of a wax tip pencil!  I'm wondering if the rhinestones I had were swavorski bc they look the same.. I'm gonna go purchase both kinds so I can see the difference.

I also love that font!.. I have the same one, that I'm dying to bling up so I can use it for something else. )

SO I have some extra wire leftover from my DIY bridal hanger..do you think it would be "tacky" to try to make a cake topper out of that? We only need it for pictures, we decided it wasn't worth the $ to buy one that we will never use again! I searched on etsy and there charging $50+ for the wire ones..I'd totally have Brittney make one but we don't have any bling anywhere in our wedding other than my rings   thoughts ladies??

If you have leftover the go ahead and make your letter and see how you like it. If you don't like it for a cake topper you can always use it for something else. )

lol.. I understand. We don't either. But I love bling so I had to put it somewhere. ) FI just laughs.. He said my topper was cute and he was impressed, I was shocked! lol

 

Now let me head to Etsy to check out these wire cake toppers. )
