Allie, are you allowed to bring the real touch flowers into the country.  Unless I'm miss thinking what real touch are, the freeze dried flowers, in which case sorry for being dumb.

Jenn - the real touch are more like a vinyl vs. the silk/fabric flowers. they are totally fake!! these aren't the freeze dried ones - those you can't bring in from what I understand. The calla lillies and orchids are the real touch flowers my stuff.

I should also add that the orchids are major sentimental for me - my maternal grandparents raised orchids, and so for every holiday and special occassion growing up, we had orchid headbands and corsages. my sister had orchids from my grandparents' greenhouses on her cake and centerpieces when she got married, my mom had them in hers too. As a tribute to my grandparents, I needed to incorporate the orchids into my bouquet. There are also orchids in small touches throughout our stationary as well.

Attire: what we are wearing..

My dress is Sophia Tolli's Xandra, gorgeous a-line with organza & lace layers, plus beading throughout. it has a chapel train, and while I wanted texture (check), but was looking more for ruffles, or lace. I got the lace..and organza, but totally different from what I envisioned. I love it though!!  I've had them do a soft sweetheart for the neckline though.

I got a cathedral veil with light beaded edge from eBay venus_veils (bargain hunters unite!) for $34. I figured if I wear it for just a few pics, GREAT. I just am not sure it will work for the ceremony or not. But hey, for that price, who cares? I couldn't justify spending $200 on one with the risk that I may not even wear it for the ceremony.

My hair inspiration is this updo:

I want to put the veil just above the bun, or below it - not sure which yet. I know I don't want the veil sitting at the crown of my head though - I look like a nun! I hated it that way when the bridal shops put them there..it just didn't work for me.

Still working on the make up look. I'm planning to DIY that one, as I can't see paying $90 at the resort for them to do it. One of the artists at Sephora & I are becoming very good friends...so far we've ruled out a black smokey eye (can you say raccoon?!?).

I also had a dress label made by Monde Design; I sent her my invites to show her our colors, and she ended up being able to match our font on the invites.

Even better, the shop doing my alterations is stitching it into the hem of my dress for no charge (Classy Concepts in Mansfield, TX - local gals, check them out!! Sue and her team ROCK). I can't wait to flip up my hem and show this off lol

I have my "mrs" hanger, from etsy seller Handcrafted Affairs

Funny enough, opening the hanger was one of my first "OMG I'm getting married" moments. Not the dress, the veil, the crafty stuff, but the hanger with my new last name. rolleyes.gif

Jewelry - I found my necklace, earrings and bracelet at Classy Concepts too (and the orange pin tuck table runners for our dinner/reception!).

And this headband from etsy seller ChantalEveleen, it matches the bracelet PERFECTLY. I saw the headband first and fell in love with it, so it was karma that the bracelet happened to be the same. Also, my head is apparently shaped weird, and the tied headbands like this will NOT stay on. I have a plain silver hard (traditional?) headband that I'm going to fix this one to so I can be sure it'll stay on my head (one more DIY project)

and last but not least, my shoes. I'm a shoe addict to begin with, and shoes have been a big challenge for the wedding. I've bought 4 pairs of shoes in my quest for the "perfect" shoes for my wedding. One pair has been resold to another bride (blue Badgley Mischka Randalls, found on sale at ideeli.com), one pair will be my welcome dinner shoes (found at Kenneth Cole outlet, $35), one pair for the ceremony, and my silver sequin TOMS for the reception. here are my ceremony shoes - Daisy Duke wedges from Stuart Weisman (found on sale at RueLaLa! did I mention I'm a bargain hunter?). Ok, the SW's were still pricey, but half price...which is a deal to me. And they were what I wanted all along! I've worn them to the office a few times to break them in, and they are definitely a shoe I can wear after the wedding.

ok, enough about the bride. my handsome groom is wearing a grey Tommy Hilfiger suit from Macy's, which we picked up (you guessed it, on sale!) at Macy's. I think this is the one...

We found his tie at bows-n-ties.com - fantastic value, great products. For the life of me I can't remember which one we got him, and he's put it away so it's not like I can even go peek! (boys...!) I think it's this one:

We bought my brother & my dad these orange & white ties from the same website:

in typical groom fashion, he'll go out and buy a new white shirt and shoes the week before we leave thatswck.gif

We don't have a bridal party, as we chose not to have the guys and girls spend $$ on a new outfit or dresses - we're just happy they'll be there with us, and we couldn't afford to buy them for them. It also cut out a TON of stress since we didn't have to coordinate this.

And that takes care of the fashion show!

I finished my place cards last night - DIY of course. 4x3 scrapbook paper, and then the names. I stamped and cut out the shells/starfish, which indicate each guest's entree choice. This is about half of them. Mine is a little crooked, so I'll be remaking that one! lol
