Jamaica Weather and Choosing a Date

Hi Everyone - I was hoping to book the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for April of 2013 but they are all booked up until July 2013.  Do people recommend having a July or Aug wedding in Jamaica or waiting until let's say late October / Early Novemeber?

That's a tough one.

 

If I had to choose between July through Oct I think I would probably pick either July (Earliest possible) or end of Oct /Nov for sure.

 

It will be hotter and more humid in July/Aug time, but Peak Hurricane season is August/Sept and running into October. Now.. the chances of one actually hitting are slim, but just something to keep in mind when picking the date.
 

When we booked for March we told ourselves that if we could not get a date for March or April.. that we would probably wait until the next year.... as I know its 'slim' risk but it was a risk we did not want to take for our wedding.

I'd normally say you should wait until October/November, but after the Hurricane Sandy and storms that just hit recently I say go with Aug. In fact, I was in JA for a wedding at the end of Aug this year and it was INSANELY HOT! If you choose Aug be sure to have a few parasols to hand out to the guests as it will help them in the heat.

I wouldn't compromise weather matters! I would rather choose a new venue or keep my chosen venue and wait a year. A hot humid wedding will not be comfortable and one in a hurricane would be disaster.
